Sapphire for smf 1.1 rc1 is now availible.
This theme makes use of Flash for the header, navigation, and footer. if it annoys you, you can disable sound effects in admincp -> current themes settings -> disable sound effects (sound effects in intro and link hover only)

that's becasue it's in flash. i dont think it's worth it to include two different flash movies in the theme. And i dont know how to integrate php and flash.

The only problem ive found with the latest download of the theme is that the message icons dont show up, everyone of them is a lil red X.

When I loaded it up, I lost the ADMIN button. It was replaced by LOGIN even though though I was already logged in. Thank god I have the BACK button. :)

also, this theme is in the process of being updated to work with tinyportal it works, but im still modding it so it looks good with the width and all.( i need permission from bloc to include the tinyportal templates with the theme)

Really Like the Theme, the only thing is all the images are smf defaults except the buttons but with downloads from here ive managed to make the site im admin of look pretty cool :D just one thing im not very keen on is the header thing with the login thing... maybe make 2 flash files one that you already have.. and when you login display another flash which is what you get when you logged in .. admin , logout etc ....
not a problem though i can still access the admin section, logout etc thro the mkportal :D

arg. i messed up on that option.
a quick fix would be to go to the admin panel, check the
Disable sound effects
checking this will disable sound effects from your flash header.
box, saving, then going back and unchecking it (and saving).

you could easily change the width, but it would cause problems with the gradient used for the background of the forum.

Have you thought about creating a seperate flash file for each menu item? That way you wouldn't have to create a seperate flash menu for each of the possiblities.

I actually just now noticed that the menu is animated with the logo. I was just thinking in terms of a regular (non-animated) menu.

hehe. yeah. That's the whole purpose of the "czzzzshhoooom" sound, it plays while the menu is sliding out. :)
The only purpose i could see in making a regular logo out of flash (non-animated) would be for sound effects on hover.

It's probabally showing for everyone but you..because i tested it in opera, firefox, and ie. All three browsers act exactly the same when displaying an image. It's just ie being a pain. It will probabally stop doing that if you refresh and/or clear your cache.

Well! as I am liking this flash logo more and more each time I look at it. I have a logo allready to plug into it, I made it the same size. I just dont want to mess the whole board up if I do it wrong. It isnt a flash logo, also would it be possible to remake the flash logo to say..."Bears Connection" with out the quotes as you did for a few other people here?. I am not that familar with flash, but I am quite good with graphics. :)

it would take some workit's kind of complitcated...because the flash header is the same width as the theme. It has to have a set width, no body margins, or percents or anything, or some of it wont align right. And i cant make it too wide, because the lower screen res. would get a horizontal scrollbar.

Tipp, the problem is that inside the .tar.gz you've got a folder with the stuff in - you need the stuff in the .tar.gz but NOT in a folder just like the noflash zip. :)

On my boards the images for YIM and ICQ are not showing up. They show red x's under the users avatar. Any way to fix this?

I got it, it is actually a database issue. They are set to nothing but the forum still thinks that is is so it shows a red x. I need to figure out how to set it correctly without using phpmyadmin, it isn't available. :( That is what happens when you convert from Snitz.. It has been giving me a REAL headache >:( Great theme though, sorry for the confusion

Looks like you are having the same issue as me, I have this template setup on two diferent hosting services. My icq gif isnt showing on the service that I have smf 1.1Rc1 but it shows up on another hosting service running smf 1.0.5. Note to TIPP: that xx.gif is showing up now when I changed hosting services but I cant seem to apply any mods..

She... ;D And yea, I removed the link because I got it fixed now. Mine was more due to the conversion between Snitz and SMF I did. Not a template issue. I think it will take a while before all the little database issues are ironed out on mine. If you want to see the link is

you can change that in style.css. look for the border attributes on windowbg3, make them the same as windowbg and windowbg2.

none of that is nessesary..all you have to do is go to admincp -> themes
and upload it. smf extracts it on it's own.

He attached the .fla file to his first post, which is a flash source file. You'll need a program like Flash MX to open it though.

This is a great theme! Adding Flash was brilliant! Will it be updated for RC2 and for 1.1 when it's released? Also - I'm not a templating guru - how do you make it variable width, so it can be used wrapped in Mambo (so it doesn't force the left and right menus out making the horizontal scroll bar appear)?

i dont know what could cause that error. try replacing your index.template? that's where main_above is.

This happens after install, when I change the theme to saphire11. Ive tried deleting the whole board and reinstalling and still the same error.

problem solved for the most part...What I did incase anyone else is interested is, I extracted the tar,gz in a folder and ziped it back up with winzip and called it saphire instead of saphire11...so what you end up with after you zip it up is saphire.zip then go into admin and upload it normally :)

Hi there Tipp, got a small problem with the header. it keeps looping in IE6 and you can't uncheck the loop option. Everything is fine untill you refresh the page, thats when it starts the loop.

Thank you for this theme. I like your themes. I had your Neon theme on my forum for ages, and I just now changed it to this one. However, it'll probably go back to Neon.. because it's my absolute favorite. I wish I could create themes as well, but.. eh.. I'm a lost cause, I guess.
