Nice theme. Gonna take it for a spin on my test site. Should I wish to remove "social" media follow buttons and such, how difficult would it be? I have no issue with the option to hide them if thats possible. In my world, the media is part of the problem and I am not interested in having it a part of future community builds. Thanks for the ability to use this.  :)

All options are in theme options. Don't want them? Easy as pie, don't fill the boxes.  8)

I like this, It's a genunely different presentation. Good proportions and colour choices too.

But Mick: someone snuck in and added border radii! And there is even a box-shadow! Sacrilege! :D

I like it a lot, playing around with TinyPortal on the theme here: https://test2.fjr-club.nl

It seems that the fixed top setting of 130px for the s2 sidebar does not play nice with larger logos in the header... (see attached images)

Title: Re: feather
Post by: @rjen on October 05, 2021, 03:31:44 AM
Hmm, with portals the Titles are often clickable links... due to the theme settings hyperlinks get the exact same color as the header bars in some cases

off course that can be changed individually, but you may want to fix that in the theme...

Another issue with the theme: if you activate quick moderation in the form of checkboxes the whole messageindex is hidden due to the use of the clear class...

Without quick moderation
No quick moderation.png

When setting quick moderation as checkboxes

This fixes the logo.

Replace #header with this. I forgot to add the parenthesis  :-X

echo '
<div id="header">
<h1 class="forumtitle">
<a id="top" href="', $scripturl, '">';

if(!empty($settings['ft_icon'])) {
            echo ' <span style="color:', $settings['ft_icon_color'] , '"><i class="', $settings['ft_icon'] , '"></i></span>';
                }
echo ' ', empty($context['header_logo_url_html_safe']) ? $context['forum_name_html_safe'] : '<img src="' . $context['header_logo_url_html_safe'] . '" alt="' . $context['forum_name_html_safe'] . '">', '</a>
</h1>';

Title links, Fixed.
Logo/image/icon, Fixed.

Im not so sure about moderation check boxes. I did see what you see but the theme does not have display.template.php.

The user bar not playing nice with larger logos, im looking in to it.

Let me look further on these two issues and ill upload the theme
Title: Re: feather
Post by: @rjen on October 06, 2021, 06:05:31 PM
The logo is back...

and the issue with the checkboxes is caused by .clear class on the quickModForm.

You are putting this clear class to a fixed width and height of 0, and set it to display: hidden in the css. This is causing the sub-elements (in this case the messageindex div) to disappear...

The user bar clashing with large logos... let's lower it.

Increase Top: 130px to 150px

.s2 {
background: transparent;
display: block;
position: absolute;
top: 150px;
left: 0;
bottom: 0;
width: 80px;
z-index: 2;
}

already did that, it needed 170px in my case.
But due to the absolute position I am pretty sure other users with different size logos will have problems again...

Yup, that is bound to cause problems if the logo size does not match. Better to avoid absolute if you can't predict the content size. There should be another way of handling it that will still work.

Also, why would you want child boards moved to where the description of the board supposed to be?

I just want to remove the button from the menu so that it cannot be used by users.

child panels are moved below the description.

It already is under the main menu on all devices.

If you want it centered since it is displayed to the left on mobile...
Open the theme's CSS file (index.css)
Find:
.s2 .user-links {
margin-top: 5px;
}

Replace with:
.s2 .user-links {
margin-top: 5px;
                text-align: center;
}

I wasn't going to use the menu on the right, or put anything else up there.

But on second thoughts, to keep things simple and save you time playing about with it, I'll drop the logo down to where you normally put the hero image  ;)

With the tops links turned off (empty), open index.css file and find:

Should look something like this...
#header {
-webkit-align-items: center;
-ms-flex-align: center;
align-items: center;
background-color: #fff;
display: -webkit-flex;
display: -ms-flexbox;
display: flex;
-webkit-flex-direction: row;
-ms-flex-direction: row;
flex-direction: row;
padding: 0 5px;
position: relative;
border-radius: 20px 20px 0 0;
-webkit-justify-content: space-between;
-ms-flex-pack: justify;
justify-content: space-between;
width: 100%;
background-image: linear-gradient(to bottom, #d0ebff, #e0efff, #edf3ff, #f8f9ff, #ffffff);
}

Replace with:
#header {
padding: 0 5px;
display: flex;
align-items: flex-end;
border-radius: 20px 20px 0 0;
background-color: #fff;
background-image: linear-gradient(to bottom, #d0ebff, #e0efff, #edf3ff, #f8f9ff, #ffffff);
}
#header::after {
content: "";
display: block;
clear: both;
}

Find: h1.forumtitle and add text-align: center; to it.

I have feather installed on the site I'm building here:  https://www.ytyak.com

Have you done any updates to the theme since this example?

Not also that the feature image is cut off a bit, whereas it used to be fully visible.
(Looks as if its zoomed within the frame cutting some off)

I haven't made any manual changes but I think this happened when I reinstalled the theme following an update you made to the theme. Any ideas?

Thanks Mick, much appreciated.

I'm pretty much there with my customised version of your theme, I've tried to keep it clean, which I know you like, so I hope you approve  :laugh:

I added some gradients to the menus as you suggested and I have removed the top and bottom background blocks. For board icons, I've got a green arrow for 'new posts' and I just leave 'no new posts' blank.

I just have three niggles that I need to tidy up now:
(1) The gallery image going off screen.
(2) The gallery category row is overlapping the menu bar a bit.
(3) The border that I put round the wrapper doesn't display at the sides on mobile devices.

Dropped you a PM with the URL in case that's useful for the gallery issue.

Really enjoying working with your theme thanks!

Found it, it's not the image, it's the BB 'Image Linking Codes' text box that's going off screen and allowing the image to follow it.

Now got to try and stop that happening  ;D

Mick - does the theme change the default font? I ask because the text shows no difference if formatted in normal or in bold and obviously, in the latter case, it should be, umm, bold. :)

Also how can I make the background of posts a bit darker blue rather an almost white?

Confirmed. Chasing it.

Find:
.windowbg, .approvebg, .approvebg2 {
background-color: #fff;
box-shadow: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.05) 0px 1px 1px 0px;
margin: 12px 0 0 0;
padding: 12px 16px;
border-radius: 20px;
overflow: auto;
}
/* Here comes the glory... */
.windowbg:nth-of-type(even), .bg.even {
background-color: #fff;
box-shadow: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.05) 0px 1px 1px 0px;
border-radius: 20px;
}
.windowbg:nth-of-type(odd), .bg.odd {
background-color: #fff;
box-shadow: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.05) 0px 1px 1px 0px;
border-radius: 20px;
}

Replace #fff; with your color. Try something like this: #f1f5f9;

QUESTION 1

May I suggest (or perhaps you can tell me how to set it up accordingly) that links in the top menu are set to open in a new tab (or have perhaps a checkbox for that option).

I want to have links here but still have the forum remain open in a tab; rather than have the forum replaced by another webpage.

QUESTION 2
In the additional fields for social media (in profile which I can then display wherever) how can I make a link a clickable link.

Ideally what I would like is a YT link with text reading the channel name.
Something along the lines of
The Workshop
Might be easier from a user perspective for them to have two fields one for URL and one for title if that is doable.  The diplay should then show just the title which is clickable to take them to the link.
Link really does need to open in a new tab.

@landyvlad
Open index.template.php find;

<div role="navigation" id="nav-main" class="okayNav">
<ul class="reset">';
if(!empty($settings['top_link_name_1']))
echo '
<li><a href="', $settings['top_link_1'] , '">' , $settings['top_link_name_1'] , '</a></li>';

if(!empty($settings['top_link_name_2']))
echo '
<li><a href="', $settings['top_link_2'] , '">' , $settings['top_link_name_2'] , '</a></li>';

if(!empty($settings['top_link_name_3']))
echo '
<li><a href="', $settings['top_link_3'] , '">' , $settings['top_link_name_3'] , '</a></li>';

if(!empty($settings['top_link_name_4']))
echo '
<li><a href="', $settings['top_link_4'] , '">' , $settings['top_link_name_4'] , '</a></li>';

if(!empty($settings['top_link_name_5']))
echo '
<li><a href="', $settings['top_link_5'] , '">' , $settings['top_link_name_5'] , '</a></li>';

<li><a href="', $settings['top_link_6'] , '">' , $settings['top_link_name_6'] , '</a></li>';
                echo'

We want to add this bit to whichever button:
target="_blank"
Should look like this:
if(!empty($settings['top_link_name_1']))
echo '
<li><a href="', $settings['top_link_1'] , '" target="_blank">' , $settings['top_link_name_1'] , '</a></li>';

I'm having trouble understanding your question. The top menu already has that. A slot for the link and a slot for the name.

It's not needed for updated browsers, but might be a good idea to also add rel="noopener" since SMF 2.1 kept it in the links with _blank

I'm not talking about top menu, but the social links section.

And need things to open in a NEW tab so it doesn't navigate away from the forum.

I figured it out and yes, they will be available in all themes after 2.1 gold.

Hi Mick,

There is an error also when trying to access the error log. It takes you there, then a pop up gives you alternatives but you cannot get out of that once there, even clicking on the close icon to the top right side.

This happens if there are errors or no errors but doesn't seem to produce an error

I should add that yours is not the only 2.1 theme to do this

That because the theme is compatible with RC4. Not 2.1 final.

Hi

I'm a total newbie, testing themes. I installed Feather which seemed to go ok (got a bunch of error about writing to default theme, for some reason, so I changed permissions to allow Group to write, group is nginx but may need to be "nobody").

Then I tried installing Peacock which did not produce any errors, but now I'm stuck here, can't close the dialogue or change the theme ... any ideas?

Multiple things there, how did you install the themes? Installing a theme shouldn't touch the default at all, so I'm a bit worried about that error message. Doesn't sound like an issue in the theme either.

Secondly, that menu issue looks like the version of the theme you have hasn't been updated for 2.1.x yet. Themes made for RC versions have that, or a very similar issue, when used on the later released versions.

You may be able to bypass that issue temporarily by going to index.php?theme=1

Thanks for quick response, your hint worked.

Theme version is
<version>1.0</version>
<!-- Install for, the SMF versions this theme was designed for. Uses the same wildcards used in the packager manager. This field is mandatory. -->
<install for="2.1 - 2.1.99, 2.1 RC4" />

Installed from .zip file via the theme install page. Running locally.

Have switched back to default theme for now. There does not seem to be an "uninstall theme" function ... or maybe that is elsewhere.

Really terrible captures used here.</rant> v looks like c....

Thanks, Ian

You can remove themes from Admin -> Configuration -> Themes and layout -> Theme Settings

Since 2.1.99 hasn't been released yet, I would say that is a likely mistake by the theme author and should be brought up with them.

P.S.

This theme was designed without the linktree so it may be difficult to place it without taking away from the design given.

Anyhow..

Hi Mike,

I have one more question. I tried to follow your guide to modify theme's index.template.php so I can upgrade my site to 2.1.2. However, I cannot find <li class="button_signup"> in feather's index.template.php file (I'm still under 2.1.1). I can find this line under the default theme's index.template.php file. I tried to change the default theme's file according to your guide but it didn't work. It didn't pass the upgrade file verification.

Or do you mean, I need to force upgrade my theme to 2.1.2 at first, then change the theme's index.template.php according to your guide?

Update: Never mind. I saw the same notes during the upgrade file verification now. I thought you were posting how to correct this error. Have you tried to ignore these errors and force upgrade?

Sorry for any confusion, I had just posted what the system told me it failed on.

Re: "Have you tried to ignore these errors and force upgrade?"
The answer is yes, and it upgraded - BUT, I just have this on a test site and forcing an upgrade is not something that I would normally try on a live forum.

Mick is the only person that can offer you informed advice on that ;)

Where is Mick?

I need to know:
1. Is it safe to upgrade forum version and if so - what to?
2. Is version 1.1 (current) of the theme incorporating the fixes in this thread?  I guess maybe not?

@Mick. seems to have  been on here in the last day or so, but not in this thread evidently.

I need to know

If I upgrade forum to 2.1.2 will Feather work/install?
Does it work with 2.1.1?  (I'm on RC4 at the moment)

and for the ALERTS - it seems that alerts have to be marked as read one at a time? I really need the 'normal' function where all alerts can be marked as read at once. Maybe this was just overlooked?

@landyvlad take a look at this:
https://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=582989.0

Anyhow, upgrading to the latest 2.1 branch is safe, as this theme is compatible with it, so please proceed with that. I can't say about the alerts but maybe the upgrade will sort that out as well?

Just please make sure that you have a backup before you proceed with anything else though.

Why are you seeing find/replace commands??

This is a Theme, not a mod. There should be no find/replace involved.

I'm currently using a (somewhat adapted) form of this theme on my website.
Users asked me if it's possible to show a little avatar in the responsive mobile view. However, I am not good enough to actually change the whole structure of a theme. I could be able to display the user info box using css, but then I have a big chunky boi of text underneath the avatar (which is clear since it's the whole user box ^^).

Does anyone know what I should have to do in order to just show the avatar next to the username in the responsive view?

Wonderful responsive template.  Using it on a missing-icons.jpg new 2.1.2 SMF board.

Having a problem with the editing icons and avatars.  They do not appear.  See attached.

What to do?

Hello there.
Either the icons is missing from the server, or the paths are not correct. Try to re-upload images folder from theme, and re-check the paths on your forum. If you look at the source for that page can you see what is the path for that icon that is not showing?

If possible you can write URL to your forum so we may take a look as well.

Hello fellow Feather users,

The last 2 months i have been reading this topic and you guys previous questions have helped me setup this brilliant theme for my carclub forums that i run.

However there is one quirk i still have with the main menu that i would like to fix, but cannot seem to figure out. My menu has some additional buttons due to addons in my forum, like tinyportal, google member map and a gallery, combined with the administration and moderation buttons makes it so that in some sized the menu does not fit.

Normally on smaller screens the menu goes to a drop down layout like on a smartphone, this is perfectly usable, however on tablets and also on computers that have the browser set to a smaller window instead of fullscreen, this can result in a menu in some buttons are placed on a second row that does not comply with the theme visuals.

I have searched for a way to fix this and these are some of the ways i have contemplated:
- remove buttons from the menu (this can be done, but this would cripple some of the functions)
- regroup buttons into some kind of extra menu (can be done with expensive addon, but not ideal)
- find the setting that switches the menu from buttons on a bar to drop down and adjust for the amount.

This third option would be my preferred way forward, and i think its connected to the responsive CSS file. And have gone over it multiple times, but i fail to understand the file setup to change it.  :-\

So i'm hoping one of you have had this issue as well and have found a way to change it, and is willing to help me with this.

Here a attachment that show the menu with 2 buttons on the second row.

Thanks all, Kind regards, Patrick

There's a fourth option: Grow the header in height if the buttons spill down.

Code (Search) Select
#bar {
    background-image: linear-gradient( 96.5deg,  rgba(39,103,187,1) 10.4%, rgba(16,72,144,1) 87.7% );
    border-radius: 10px;
    display: block;
    margin: 0 20px 0 20px;
    height: 45px;
    position: relative;
}
Replace height with min-height

Code (Search) Select
.menu li {
     display: inline-block;
     position: relative;
     z-index: 100;
}
Code ("Add after") Select
.menu li:hover {
    z-index: 101;
}

Quote from: QQP-Patrick on October 25, 2022, 08:32:09 PM- find the setting that switches the menu from buttons on a bar to drop down and adjust for the amount.

Also very easy!
Code (Search) Select
@media (max-width: 767px) {
Code (Replace) Select
@media (max-width: 991px) {
All of these changes are in the index.css file  :)

I am gonna give you a suggestion that Diego gave a user of my theme that may work for you.

Open the index.css and find

#bar {
    background-image: linear-gradient( 96.5deg,  rgba(39,103,187,1) 10.4%, rgba(16,72,144,1) 87.7% );
    border-radius: 10px;
    display: block;
    margin: 0 20px 0 20px;
    height: 45px;
    position: relative;
}

change to

#bar {
    background-image: linear-gradient( 96.5deg,  rgba(39,103,187,1) 10.4%, rgba(16,72,144,1) 87.7% );
    border-radius: 10px;
    display: block;
    margin: 0 20px 0 20px;
    min-height: 45px;
    position: relative;
}

Edit : Looks like Diego has already responded XD.

You both are indeed SMF-hero's!

I never considered to grow the height, i think because the old theme of the 2.0.19 version of the forum was using image files instead of dynamically generated gradients and such.

Made the changes and it works beautifully for the main menu.
The left side menu that is vertical however is hardcoded at its top location, so that can start to interfere when the menu drops down, but that is a small adjust i can make.  ;D

Also your explanation what code line determines when the menu switches to the drop down is very helpful. as i have tried both approaches and i like the grown menu more, although i can now tweak when it switches also  :)

will test further tomorrow, as its now 03:25 here, but again thank you both very much!

Thinking i had only one bug left to fix and what do you know, 2 more pop up  ::)
But before i spend more then the 3 hours of searching that i have done so far and wreck more then i fix, i would like to run this by you hero's again.

The first is something i had seen before in my site, but never thought of being a bug, but looking back at the multiple screenshots in this support topic, i can clearly see something is wrong with mine.

And that is the grey block (pointed at with the red arrow) above the main content. Its classified as the #main_content_section as far as i can find. And at first i found where its being setup in the index.css file and can make it almost disappear, but looking at your screenshots and the original screenshots of Mick, it seems the content that is under the block (pointed at with the green arrow) should have been inside this block.  :o

So seems that something is maybe wrong with the index_template file.
I naturally played around with the file trying to fix it and multiple times made it so it would not load anymore  ::)

And a second question i have is hopefully even easier, and that is i enabled the like feature of the new SMF like is available here on this forum and it works. But when you click the link to see who liked the post, here it opens in a nice popup in the forum, on my site using feather it opens in a full page replacing the entire forum. the close button does not work and i need to use the go back button of the browser to get back.
Are you having this also and if yes, is there a fix for this?

If you could link the forum we could identify the first issue faster.
And it could possibly be in the BoardIndex.template.php too, do you know if this issue happens inside a board too? If not, then it's definitely the boardindex template.

For the second issue I haven't tested it with this theme, will have a look.
Title: Re: feather
Post by: QQP-Patrick on October 27, 2022, 09:04:37 PM
It indeed happens inside a board too and also in posts, so basically everywhere. Also on the tinyportal homepage i use. (see attachments)

Linking to the forum however is difficult, as the test version is hosted on a server running in a virtual machine on a proxmox installation that i have not linked to the outside, so Google does not find it and the members don't get messages from the test instance  :P

Thank you for al this great help.

Oh and yes the file is modified because of my header logo.
But funny think was i had replaced it with i think was a clean version and it killed my header, but i still saw the template issue.
So its in the original also, or something different is causing it now i think about it.  ???

ahh so probably indeed something i did to get my logo to work.
As that was something the original did not do. the centering, and also at first it jumped a bit when the browser window got smaller like on mobile devices.

and then to think i was so proud of myself to get the logo banner to work after multiple days of tinkering.  ::)

This validation was for the index.css i think?
If yes, then restoring it to the original does not fix it.  :o

For me it didn't change either, still looks fine... Which is basically your result.

The likes work perfectly fine too, so another thing is interfering with it.

Okay thank you guys!

Clearly something is messing with it outside of the theme then. Although i just found out that my logo is not working on chrome anymore. whoohoo  ::)

I think i will make notes of all things i changed, then rebuild the test site from a fresh backup and run through the entire upgrade again, as i always planned to do the entire upgrade again to see if i had not missed anything. and then test the theme and all from step 1 again.

But now its bedtime again as its almost 4 am, and the alarm will sound at 8  ;D  Oops
Title: Re: feather
Post by: QQP-Patrick on October 29, 2022, 06:32:48 PM
It took some time but i finally found out what was causing the problems with the popup window that should show who liked the post. Indeed that it has nothing to do with the team itself, and even none of my mods.

Its the Minimise CSS- and JavaScript-files setting in the main forum settings. When that is turned on it messes it up somehow. Even on a clean install of this theme.

Furthermore i found out that this same setting is also what causes the quick edit button to stop working. So turning the setting off fixed both issues for me.

So hopefully this can help others that use this team also.  ;D
Title: Re: feather
Post by: Diego Andrés on October 29, 2022, 10:55:22 PM
I couldn't reproduce the issue and I tried a vanilla forum with the latest feather package.
It could definitely be a mod that is not minimizing the css file correctly and thus overwriting something it shouldn't.

If you wish, you could share the list and when I have some spare time I could try to find what caused it.
Title: Re: feather
Post by: QQP-Patrick on October 30, 2022, 04:51:31 AM
Oh that still could be it and who knows maybe its even my test server that causes it.
As i also found out that Chrome and Firefox would not load the CSS styles and safari did. And as i am a mac user primarily i tend to use safari.

Luckily i found out it was caused by the fact my test server does not use a SSL certificate, and the theme was trying to point to https and thus tripping up Chrome and Firefox.

Thanks again Diego, for now i will just continue as that minimizing setting was not present in the old version as far as i could see. And then when live in the original site, i will check if it works, if yes then i can switch it to on  ;)

I'm running Feather on SMF 2.1 RC4
Looking to upgrade the site to 2.1.2.
I assume the currently available version of the mod (v1.1 here https://custom.simplemachines.org/index.php?theme=2977 )  is the 2.1.2 compatible and fully functional one? i.e. should work with no issues?

site is ytyak.com in case it matters

Hi,

Yes as far as the standard theme without modifications it is completely working with 2.1.2 as far as i could see. So upgrading should be possible for you.

Although i would always advise to have a backup ready and if you can to first setup a test site and do the upgrade there, just to be prepared for if something breaks.
Title: Re: feather
Post by: QQP-Patrick on November 04, 2022, 10:34:31 PM
Another day another issue found. Only this time it is while im in the middle of upgrading the live environment. Luckily its not breaking, but can be somewhat interfering for the mods of the forum.

The problem is the titlebar in the member lists of the admin section. Where you can view members, registrations and such. The bar itself is a nice gradient and normally the text in it is white. However in the member lists the titles are clickable to sort the lists and this overwrites the white color with the url color that is almost the same blue.

I think i have read this before in this topic, but could not find a fix for it. I can change the gradient color of the bar, but cannot really find a other color that matches the style of the theme.
And changing the hyperlink color can cause problems on other parts of the forums.

So any idea's?

(currently my main forum is in maintenance mode undergoing the upgrade, hopefully i don't stumble on other bugs.  ;)

I am using the "Curve" theme and I plan to switch to "feather" (among others the mods "FancyBox 4 SMF" and "Post and PM Inline Attachments").

With Curve2 it is possible to insert a file attachment directly in the text. This is not possible with "feather". The file attachments are accepted here, but the "Insert" button is missing. The attachments appear after saving (as always in SMF) below the post.

My users like to insert their images in the middle of the text.

Is there a way to implement this function in feather?

change the font-size declarations in index.css other than the baseline body definition to use em instead of px
or use relative sizes... or adjust the use of px, defined by the screen-size

Quoteem is font-relative unit ,i.e., em is equal to the computed value of the font-size property of the element on which it is used. Use em when you specifically want the size of something to depend on the current font size. On the other hand, px or pixel, is an absolute unit, where 1 px = 1 / 9 6 = 1/96 =1/96th of an inch.
https://www.quackit.com/html/codes/html_font_size_code.cfm

use the browser inspect tool to find the CSS call(s) that affect that section

I came here looking for a fix to Quick Edit not working. I see it was brought up last year, but did not see a solution ever mentioned. Has anyone figured out why the javascript is not being found for the feature?

"Uncaught TypeError: oQuickModify.modifyMsg is not a function at HTMLLIElement.onclick (VM111 index.php:1:14)" is what I see when I inspect the browser code. I haven't been able to figure out why it is not being found with this theme? I'm testing this theme on a temporary website before I update an older forum to SMF 2.1. I have the latest version of the theme I just downloaded yesterday and overwrote what was there from a download a few months ago. glrv.net/forum is where I'm testing this theme. I've made only a few very minor CSS changes. I have Tiny Portal on also though I tried Quick Edit without Tiny Portal enabled and it still won't work. Thanks for any info.

Hi Mick, Feather is a wonderful theme, I must confess. A fantastic job done.

But I noticed newer posts on my forum now shows at the top. i.e a response comes above a topic instead of below and I don't seem to be able to reset it from the Admin center.

Anyone here know a way out of this?

Check your profile > look and layout preferences, there's an option in there for having newest replies at the top.

Sure there are, Admin > Themes and Layout > Member Options. You can reset individual theme options from there for people using different themes.

Quote from: QQP-Patrick on October 29, 2022, 06:32:48 PMIt took some time but i finally found out what was causing the problems with the popup window that should show who liked the post.

So hopefully this can help others that use this team also.  ;D

THANK YOU!

You made my day! This trick works. Now my quick edit button works now. Thanks!

I just updated my site from 2.1.3 to 2.1.4. This theme seems to be working fine.
