I did the same thing. I removed a lot of things I didn't want.
Will you be submitting this theme so that we can try it?

Yes, that´s the plan when the last minor bugs has been fixed.

I have now installed SMF on my existing website and added the BootBuff theme - I am really happy with the result. :)
