Hi,
I assume that search has changed with 1.1?
Well, I regularly get the message "Your query was not specific enough. Try using larger words, or less common phrases". This seems odd, as I am not using common words, and I still receieve it when I switch to quoted text. "Statistical filter" cannot be common, and before I posted this, I searched for "Your query was not specific enough. Try using larger words, or less common phrases" (with quotes), to see if it' has already been reported, and received the same error message again. - Surely this is not how the search function should be operating?
These forums are using a modified version of 1.1 RC1 - the search engine is being worked on on these boards. This probably isn't permanent and I think I heard this will be fixed for RC2.
What are the chances of not using a modified version? ::) - OK, slim, I guess, but I am fed up of not being able to make reasonable searches. I just performed a search for "monitored topics" (including quotes), and it comes up as not specific enough. - Is the idea to put people off from using Search? :-X
Don't use special charachters when searching.
Actually it wasn't that Jay.
Col this has been brought up to the developers and they have it on their todo list. The problem steams from that fact that the same error message is used if no results are found or if too many were found. If you search again you'll find only your post just now with that phrase
Also including special characters will return this message also ;)
But " are not special characters
Thanks Mike.
keeps getting this annoying message with RC2...
any help/updates ?
This error should be fixed for the next release.
You mean 1.1 final, or 1.x ? :\
1.1 Final. There wont be any further releases for the 1.0 line unless it's a security release,
