Title: Reinstalling SMF ??
Post by: Snickerz on August 10, 2022, 12:05:32 AM
I have no idea if this is in the right place or not. If it's not, please do feel free to move it and let me know. I am having a really hard summer and because of this my brain is all but dead right now. I have been trying to get my site switched over from a subdomain, to a domain, and I think I'm finally getting close. However my host, was working on it, and they managed to strip down the entire thing, leaving me with this:

Every link, seems to go to the domain, but as you can see, the SMF format is gone, the themes, the whole nine yards. I don't know what to do. Can I just reinstall the latest version of SMF, will that fix it? Or do I need to do something more in depth?

You might need to run repair_settings. What is repair_settings.php? (https://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Repair_settings.php)

Thank you guys for your help. I honestly was so beside myself when this happened, I worked so hard on that site, and had it since 2014, so it was a major blow. I will definitely work through this link and see if I can't get it fixed up.

That link will straighten out all the paths and urls, which should fix the layout issue.

Also remember, as long as you make regular backup of your database, you can always roll back, no matter what happens.

Anyways, let us know how it will go once you have run the aforementioned tool.
