Says Simple Machines. How would I edit it to show a small image of what I'm actually talking about?

Sorry, When I share a link to my friends in FB Messenger it comes up just like the picture shows. basically in a nutshell gives the hxxp://example.com/index.php?topic=10.msg8#msg8 but shows that Image background instead of the Image I'm trying to display.
Try the Optimus mod to set a better 'open graph image' (which is what FB Messenger looks for) but if that's not present it'll just use the first image on the page - which will be the SMF logo...
