Title: 0 posts & 0 topics in Archived Boards?
Post by: jeffythedragonslayer on March 18, 2023, 06:05:35 PM
The main board page,

https://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php

is displaying "Archived Boards" as having 0 posts and 0 topics, but click on it and see the sub-boards have many posts/topics.  It makes it looks like "Archived Boards" is empty.

The board itself has zero posts and zero topics; the count is technically correct. The issue is that the 'count child boards' option in admin is turned off - I don't see this as a bug personally.

In any case, the content of the archived boards is *archived*, it is of little relevance to most people.

On that note can admins move board 253 to archived as well please, it has long since served its purpose.

SMF does count direct children like Arantor said, but it's not enabled on this forum.
The setting is located in Admin > Forum > Boards and Categories > Settings > Count sub-board's posts in parent's totals.

I see.  While we're on the topic, I think it would be nice if the Test Board's description said how often it's purged.  It says I can "edit other people's posts" but I can't do that if there are no posts  ;)

There's no specific time, it's manually done after a couple days.

Or people do it because they have the power and are bored.
