Title: Upgrading from SMF 2.0.18 to 2.1 - Data Not Displaying
Post by: sheikzayed on September 13, 2024, 04:29:47 AM
We encountered an issue upgrading our forum directly from SMF 2.0.18 to 2.1. The site displays a vanilla forum with no existing data. What's the recommended procedure to upgrade and ensure data integrity is maintained?

It looks like a fresh install rather than an upgrade. The link posted above contains all the necessary info on how to perform a large upgrade.

As answered,  it sounds like you did an install,  not an upgrade.

Hopefully you have a backup of your original database.

Restore that and then follow the instructions that illori linked
