My Request
I was wondering if someone could create a mod which restricted members based on their Gender Feild?

The problem I am facing

I have 2 sections on my site: Males Only and Females Only
each section is targeted at one gender to discuss their gender specific topics (problems advice etc)

Now when I create new member groups called Male and Female the problem which arises is that either of those member groups still belong to one of the post counts based groups "newbie, hero member, etc". So eventhough there are restrictions set in the Male/Female member groups, but the post based member groups over rule the restrictions with their allowances. As a result all boards are still visible to both males and females and they can view and post in there without problems.

I think such a mod should exist specially since other people may even want to use "group related activities" for example: Club 1 Club 2 Club 3 Club 4 - which can be restricted from entering each others areas and still be able to belong to the newbie, hero, etc membergroups.

If this mod is not possible at all please let me know.

And also 1 Question I wanted to ask was, is it possible to restrict accesses to boards using passwords? If so please let me know how because this could provide me with a temporary solution.

Thanks.

The easiest way would simply be to not allow access to post count based groups. So

Male-only-board:
allow only membergroup 'moderators' and membergroup 'male members'

Female-only-board:
allow only membergroup 'moderators' and membergroup 'female members'

yea but then i lost all the user "star ratings" which show up as stars for being "newbies, hero. etc etc" and those are really cool

If you select the male/female groups as a secondary group (Profile -> Account related settings -> 'Additional Membergroups'), that shouldn't drop the post count based group stars.

aha I never even noticed that option there
I will give it a try right now

thanks a lot for the help

Oh and is there a way for me to include "additional feilds" next to the post for each user?
Example:
Gender: (already present)
Location:
Religion:
Etc:

like that? is it possible?

Also another question I want to ask is : is it possible for me to 'modify' the gender feild so that instead of just the default Male/Female symbols appearing the person also has the ability to choose different options which would display different images? (like a male smiley with a beard, for gals a female smiley with long hair) while at the same time PRESERVE their ability to use just the gender symbols if they want instead.

If i didnt explain properly them lemme try it this way, when the person is selecting their gender and click the drop down box, instead of male / female they get this:
Male (symbol)
Female (symbol)
Male (smiley)
Female (smiley)
Male (word)
Female (word)

so accordingly which ever option they select displays a different image or word. Is that possible?

There's a lot of information about that in Custom Registration and Profile fields (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=29790.0) and [Unknown]'s tutorial (http://www.unknownbrackets.com/tutorials/custom-profile)
