Title: Required # Of Posts To Vote In Poll
Post by: thetzfreak on December 09, 2005, 05:44:30 PM
Well, I had a very important poll, and it went bizzarre with a couple of people signing up many times to vote for the option they wanted to win. So, to stop this, and to only let trusted members to vote, I would like to make a restriction on the voting. Is there some code I could use so that people must have, say, 20 posts to vote in the poll?

Also, I know that I have been asking for a lot of code and help lately on this forum, so I'm sorry if it's annoying anybody... it's just that I love SMF so much (it's the best forum software I've ever used), and I just feel like I could make it even better if I could get these modifications suitable for my site.

Thanks a lot SMF!

Use post groups.  Then disallow the newbie post group from voting in polls.  Then allow the high post groups to vote in polls.

What a simple idea, yet so effective :o

Hmm... it seems that I can only edit permissions for regular groups, such as guests, regular members, admins, and mods. How do I change permissions for only Post count based groups?

Check "Enable permissions for post count based groups" in Admin -> Permissions -> Settings.
