Would it be possible to have an extra tag to mark Threads/Boards/Catagories as Perminantly Read.
ie not just all current posts marked as read but all future ones too.
This would be useful in slimming down the unread posts since last visit to ones which are more likely to be useful to you.
for instance on this site marking all the language Boards where you dont speak the language as Perminantly Read would mean that when you click show unread posts you would only get posts you could understand.
I just found that there is a mod which does something similar to what I was asking for...

But I still Think It would be a nice feature to have, as I can see uses for it on all the Boards I use.

I know how you feel fwitt. I have suggested this many times and I'm hoping it makes it to 1.2. You can just mark as read as I do now. If you want to see unread posts for one board do this
http://simplemachines.org/community/index.php?action=unread;board=3,4 and so on use a comma to separate boards.

Col: not what I was looking for, I was talking about marking posts that havent yet been posted as read. So they dont show up in unread post searches and are not highlighted when you surf the forum. to make it easier to find the posts you want to read. So if someone started a Thread on Ballroom Dancing and you didnt want to read the replys you could flag the thread so replys didnt appear in your unread list and didnt show up as new when surfing the forum.

Yea it does. It keeps me away from the Language boards :P
