No, not collapsing posts...
Automatically collapsed ALREADY READ posts (original and unread stay open).
Someone raised this before. What I failed to understand is, since SMF brings you to the new posts if the user clicked on the 'new' icon, instead of to the top post or top of new post page, collapsed posts above the post won't help anything, only hinders when the user want to recap what has been said.
For those of us who have play by post RPGs, the idea of knocking off the page what OTHER people (whom may not be still involved in the thread) said, and leaving what you and the Moderator said behind...that's a good thing.
vB has this feature, and I don't use it much, but it could be quite useful. It's done all by javascript and cookies, and so viewing a collapsed post takes no time because the text is already there.
Well, SMF seems to have a clue already as to what are unread posts and what are read posts...
Wouldn't be simple to tie into this knowledge...?
This is an intereseting idea. However it is 100% a theme issue.
in the while() loop that displays the actual post there is $message['new']
So you can use that variable to determine if you should show it or not. There really isn't much "feature" to add.
