At my forums I need people to be able to sign up with more than one user account, but still using the same email address. When we try that now, we get the following error message:
"The following errors occured when trying to save your profile:
Another user is already registered with that email address."
Ive tried to find the function that does this check and disable it, but to no avail so far.
Does anyone have a clue on where to find this and perhaps even what to change/remove in the code?
Im using 1.1 RC2.
This would cause a lot of problems for several reasons, least not as SMF allows users to log in with their email address. It would also mean things like annoucements and newsletters would get sent out multiple times. I can't remember whether there are other things against it, the main check is in Register2() in Register.php, looking at the comments you could work out where the code is and remove it. You may also need to change the emailAddress column on members to INDEX as oppossed to UNIQUE.
Please note though, I did warn against this ;)
Thanks for a quick reply and info that should get me going. :)
Warning understood but... nm ;)
