Hello all simp users! happy new year...
first off i'd like to say thanks for making this board very easy to use.
I love the package manager as i know NOTHING OF PHP, HTML, ETC. TOTAL NUB!
Just wondering why there's no package maneger for the 1.1 rc2 update???? >:(
the entire reason im using this board is becauseI think the mods, themes, updates,etc. are super easy to install well untill this update. :-\
can anyone tell me why there's no update manager and is this the future of these boards? :'(
Major updates are too big for the package manager to install. However it's not very complex at all. Just upload the files as you did when you installed SMF, and then run upgrade.php. If you have any more problems, then please post more :)

I bought a hosting package with this 1.05 installed and i have no idea how to run upgrade.php
I tried this serveral times again, NUB HERE@! with no luck..btw thanks for the quick replies!
maybe you do not have the privileges to update anything. who is your host?
after using FTP to upload all the update files (overwriting everything!), then go to your forum address, but add upgrade.php on the URL...
So, if your forum was http://www.mysite.com/smf, then you would type, in your browser address bar: http://www.mysite.com/smf/upgrade.php
EDIT... DAMNIT... I forgot the smf directory in the instructions above... fixed it to read correctly now.
