Otsikko: Email send form
Kirjoitti: Pedja - tammikuu 14, 2006, 05:10:28 IP
Forum needs an web mail send form instead of plain email link in user profile.

Simple email link is spam friendly which is innacpetable. Also, hiding email address from other users is not welcome option since it limits communication. User should be able to send mail to another user using forum, but without being able to see actual email address.

Forum right now needs option to disalov showing plain email address at all.

Yes, this is a major concern. I wanted to insert a formmail script like a Private Message page, but I am unable to find a template file for PM, so perhaps I will make one.

This 'mailto' link is very bad news and must be removed.

Does anyone know if this is on a list of things to be corrected in the next release?  It would be easy enough to remove the mailto: link from the templates, but we really do need an integrated email form similar to PMs.  This is a major concern for me.  THanks :)

Bump.  Any word on this?  I just started two forums using SMF.  One is restricted to club members, so spam is not a major concern there.  The other is open to the public, so I've got a major concern there.  Any plans to integrate something like the Contact feature in Joomla?  You can send e-mail to people, but you never see their e-mail address unless they reply to you.  I have another site where I use vBulletin, which does use an email send form.  Granted, that's a forum I paid for, but I still think this should be a standard feature here.
