Title: Installing SMF 1.0.5 to Joomla 1.0.7 Site...
Post by: davemgood on January 17, 2006, 06:51:50 PM
It seems that I'm having trouble installing SMF 1.0.5 to a Joomla 1.0.7 site.

Is there something special that I should know? I have the right version of MySQL and PHP on the server. Database is created but I get different errors when I try to install.

Thanks much!

What version of the bridge are you trying to install?

Do you have a URL?

I have the latest version of the bridge from joomlaya.com, but it seems that I can't get SMF installed before I get to the bridge.

The error I get is:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: db_error() in /var/www/html/smf_forum/Sources/Subs.php on line 234

When I try again to install, I then get:

Sorry, a member is already registered with that username and/or password.

A new account has not been created.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: db_error() in /var/www/html/smf_forum/Sources/Subs.php on line 234

I'm really at a loss! All I can think of is that when I install Joomla, the Registerd Globals is ON (recommended off - but Joomla is supposed to work). Not sure about SMF, though.

Thanks much!

There are two Joomla+SMF bridges, one is a fork of the original bridge, if not mistaken bridge found over at Joomlaya (http://www.joomlaya.com) is the fork known as Joomla hacks (http://www.joomlahacks.com) version you will get a better support over there, or you could try the original bridge known as Orstio's bridge which is supported here, you can download it from --> http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=63182.0
