Dear Users,
I´ve got "Hacking Attempt" trying to upgrade mit RC 1.1 to RC 1.2 with upgrade.php. I´ve changed attributes to 666 and 77 for the required files and folders. Also I set the Forum into maintance 2 to avoid any access. The forum is running at a mambo portal and official adivse is:
run upgrade.php
update bridge to 3.20
Problem is, I even can´t run upgrade.php becaue of the "Hacking Attempt" error. Is there a trick? Do I have to remove the bridges and everything to upgrade my SMF RC 1.1? They said I needn´t to do so.
Thanks for every hint!
Not used the bridge personally so I don't know, but it may be worth taking the bridge out to see if that helps.
I removed the Bridge 3.19 totally - doesn´t change anything. Still got "hacking attempt"...
Strange, assume you are access it directly though www.domain.tld/forumdir/upgrade.php?
you can not run the upgrade through the bridge... the upgrade must be performed by accessing the url directly.
(in other words, take mambo offline, put the forum in maintenance mode and run upgrade.php by going to the forumDirectory/upgrade.php directly.)
Of corse I pointed to the direct URL :D
http://www.mymambosite-rockz.org/forum_smf/upgrade.php
Also I closed the Mambo Site and logged out everyone who was online- additionally putting the board in mode "2" with settings.php.
May this appear because of any mods? I don´t know the way this alert works- or whats the intention of it. Is the "Hacking Attempt" a issue of SMF itself or is this a mambo based issue?
Maybe I can turn on something like error log to get the cause of the "Hacking Attempt"?
Did you ever get to the bottom of this - I'm having the same problem. I don't have Mambo, I'm trying to upgrade SMF from 1.06 to 1.1 rc2. The server's running cPanel with PHPsuexec enabled. Every time I try and run the upgrade script I get a white page saying "Hacking Attempt". There are no errors in the error log.
I'm having the same problem. I uploaded the files, chmod, and point my browser to upgrade.php and the script dies in a hacking attempt error. its driving me nuts.
Mine is 1.0.7 -> RC 1.2 though.
