Everything seems to work great with firefox. Tried it on a IE browser, and nothing shows.
smf 1.1 rc2 (3.20)
joomla 1.0.7
php 4.4.1
smf default theme
joomla jt_simplicity_grey theme
seperate databases for joomla and smf
smf is wrapped in joomla.
www.masterteacher.org/joomla
(smf is found, www.masterteacher.org/smf)
error shown... Its seems incomplete, but this is all that shows.
<link rel="alternate" type="application/r
I click on forums, from the joomla menu, and should be viewing smf wrapped.
it either gives me the above error or it looks like it tries to load the page like three times. and then nothing.
I just tried it and it seems to work ok. Went to your Joomla site and clicked on the discussion forum and everything looked normal.
what version of IE are you using?
the lab here at school has IE 6.0
and i'm still getting weird stuff.
hmmm...
you appear to be trying to load joomla inside a frame??
Why?
and then, going to the /smf also loads in a frame... I see probable issues right there....

I'm not sure this will help you much, but I tried again, this time with a different computer, and I noticed the reloads. Funny thing is both of these computers have IE 6.0, which is what I used in both cases.
KIndred...
Talk to me...
you said

I don't know why either SHOULD be loading in a frame either....
explain more of your findings to me...
Ok, so I go into IE, delete out all cookies, delete out the cache, delete out history. and retry my site.
better this time...most of it loaded, but as I click through a board, errors start, soon after moving around (3 times or so) then it trys too many reloads, and freezes up..and back to where I started.
just some thoughts in the process....
Well, looks to me that you are missing one table (smf_sessions), please see the error message at the bottom of the page:
"Database Error: Table 'masterte_joomla.smf_sessions' doesn't exist
File: /home/masterte/public_html/smf/Sources/Load.php
Line: 1886"
NO... he's not missing any tables... that is the joomla db, not the smf db.
Thanks for your reply, Kindred.
However to me it sure looks that SMF is trying to access table smf_sessions from the database masterte_joomla.
If llitten is using two different db's then there's probably config issue (as SMF is trying to access joomla db instead of SMF db), or the tables are in fact in the same db...
Here's all I can see that's odd:
Your Joomla installation is here:
http://www.masterteacher.org/joomla
Yet, when you click on any link in the menu, it takes you to different URL. The "Sponges" link, for example:
http://sophia.commonservers.com/~masterte/joomla/index.php?option=com_content&task=section&id=5&Itemid=35
Good find,
Looks to me that llitten has not changed the $mosConfig_live_site setting in Joomla! configuration.php.
When you buy new domain you usually get some sort of temporary address, in this case
http://sophia.commonservers.com/~masterte/
Then you install Joomla! to subfolder which resolves to address:
http://sophia.commonservers.com/~masterte/joomla
This site address is stored into Joomla!'s configuration.php
As you go live you should change this temporary address to match your actual domain, maybe something like name + subfolder, in this case:
http://www.masterteacher.org/joomla
I believe that explains the URL's.
Best,
- Markku
No time, right now to try this..but as soon as work is over today...I'm trying to resolve these issues...It makes sense to me..so far.
well we are both having the same issue, did you use chadness files or edit them yourself when you wrapped the template in smf?
