Title: [SOLVED] Module Log-out problem with j!1.07/1.1RC2 (3.20) bridge
Post by: keh on January 27, 2006, 08:13:03 AM

Hi,

I've upgraded a site (www.sjaman.com (http://www.sjaman.com)) running Mambo and SMF 1.5 (Without problems), and a older bridge version to Joomla! 1.07, SMF 1.1RC2 using the 3.20 bridge... It runs un-wrapped. I use the bridge registration.

The log-out button from the Joomla log-in module re-directs to the SMF forum page and gives the SMF error (translated from norwegian... sry :) ) "An error has occured! Couldn't validate the log-in. Try again." Using the SMF forum log-out button works... The module log-out button gives this URL attempting to log-out:

http://sjaman.com/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=86&action=logout&returnurl=0&sesc=f9c201a52c1ce026edd679c6b103acc4

The working SMF forum log-out button gives this url, for the same log-in session: http://sjaman.com/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=86&action=logout;sesc=d0c66d727ecdebe17e0b8c12bdcc5b0a

(Edit: I tried to change the module log-out href code and make it match the working SMF forum code, but it seems there is still two different session IDs on one user... and it didn't work. I'm deleting the cache and cookies as I'm testing... )

Suggestions anyone? Please?

[ Solved: The Virtuemart shop component don't go well together with the bridge cousing a session havoc . For the bridge 3.20 to work Virumart has to be uninstalled completly, including mambots, modules, and the component... Big thanks to Orstio!  :) ]

try removing the line of code that sets/saves the session from the code that you added into your joomla template.... umm... var smf_session  or something like that...

In your SMF admin settings, are you using database driven sessions or not?

Yes, SMF is using the database to store sessions... Didn't see these session options erlier  :o

I tried to turn off the saving of sessions to database, truncated the session tables in mysql... Cleared browser cache and cookies... Still the log-out button is not working from the module...

Next time, please just answer the question.

So, now you have made some changes.  What is the current setting for database driven sessions?  Don't change it until I reply.  I just want to know what the setting is.

There is something very wrong with your bridge component.  Whatever I do, the session in the bridge component always shows:

7cdea6b2600d31082d752bea6e3b0b34

I have logged out, closed the browser, reopened, and logged in, which should definitely change the session.  And still, it shows that same value.

Did you hard-code that in somewhere?

No. I didn't do anything with the bridge code itself. The module is just styled a bit, and I don't load the SMF style.css in the joomla! template as it's a un-wrapped forum.

No changes. It's a straight upgrade without any mods or hacks... I've double-checked the files, and they all match the files in the upgrade-archive...

Not pretty - but I've removed the log-out button and use SMF-registration for the time being. This session problems created a lot of other problems as well... Perhaps it starts working when 1.1 goes stable :)
