Otsikko: Password generation
Kirjoitti: eyespark - tammikuu 27, 2006, 10:51:31 AP
Hi there!

I'm considering using SMF for my site. I will try to integrate it with my current user system. And here is my question: How is SMF password generated. I know it is sha1 hash, but is there something more? Can somebody please show me the steps from unencrypted to encrypted password.

Thank you from Slovenia

P.S. If I decide for SMF, I will submit slovenian language pack

Aha, sha1(username+password)

Is that correct?

I think the password is an sha1 hash using a salt.

But I may be wrong.
