I wanted to change order of "new toppic" and "mark as read" buttons. Found out that i should edit theme_show_buttons() in MessageIndex.template.php
I put the code in right order, but nothing changes. I have edited index.english.php so the text 'New thread' is bold. I searched all files and this place was the only place to call the $txt['smf258'], so I guess it must be the right place.
When the order didn't come out right, I tried to mess the code up to get an error ;D
I renamed some variable etc that should generate error, but noooo... Works like a charm.
So what am I doing wrong? Is cached somewhere? The language file was not...

Never mind! I found it. Seems like the function is never called. it is handled in another part of MessageIndex.template.php
