Title: Joomla DB problem when registering through SMF Admin
Post by: cferd on February 05, 2006, 11:28:30 PM
I seem to have a small problem. Small because I normally don't register users through the SMF Admin and that's whats causing it.
If I register a new member through the SMF Admin, everything appears to work fine and the new member can log into both Joomla and SMF with the smf.login mod.

But when checking the Joomla database, I find out that the registration process creates 2 ID's for the user. That's 6 separate entries versus the expected 3. The first ID shows up blank (no user name). The second ID has all the right info, but with a password string of 40 characters. The first ID's password string is 32 characters long, which judging by all the other registered users count, is the correct number.

So the question would be, can this be fixed somehow, or should I stop registering new users through SMF altogether and use the Bridge registration? I do have "bridge registration" as my option in the component, but didn't think it was a problem, being that users accounts would work either way.

Thanks, Ferd
