These are all based on the "Webby" http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=9825.0 (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=9825.0) smilies, that most people use. I made these to resemble the Christmas set (usually just hats or something similar above the smiley) so they are taller than the standard smiley set.

Here is St. Valentine's Day




I welcome suggestions for other holidays.

and St. Patrick's Day...

and Easter...

and 4th of July (US Independence Day)...

and Halloween...

here's Thanksgiving...

and New Year's Eve (or a birthday?)

nope.  didn't think it was needed.

I suggest you do ;) Webby's oke but you never know...

As I recall, the smileys weren't made by Webby himself. Webby only added the animated emotions to it.

Aside from that, you did a nice job on those smileys! The rolleyes smiley has something weird with the eyes though.

Haven't been here for a (long) while, and no, I don't mind you making these smilies.

Hope people will use them on their boards (would be nice if this could be automatic by setting a special date and that the smilies automatically will be used on that date) :)

yeah, I should write a mod that does that, because I'm constantly forgetting to change them until the holiday is almost over.

I had to move 50 websites onto two new servers the past month... writing mods is about the furthest thing from my mind >grin<

Seems like not all smilies are "alive" anymore ?  The "wink" doesn't wink, "angry" doesn't look left-and-right, "rolleyes" rolls his eyes a bit different, "smiley" doesn't blink his eyes anymore.....

Is this on purpose, or what ?

no... they should all still do that.  Which holiday set are you talking about?

Compare the ones I mentioned with your sets. For example :




My version blinks his eyes, really winks, and the angry smiley moves his eyes. And the rolleyes looks different.... Even the lipsrsealed-smiley blinks his eyes, your version doesn't.  Didn't you notice that before ?

hmmm... I notice a couple of them aren't animated.  I didn't notice some were animated and some weren't in my set, I just thought some were made that way originally.

I'll have to revisit those.

I'll have to revisit those.

Hate to bump an old thread, but I finally got around to fixing all of my holiday smileys. For some reason six of them were not animated in each set.  Looks like the Webby set on my server had been modified at some point, and those six lacked animations when I used them as the basis for my newer sets. Webby did the Santa ones originally, and those were fine.

I'm still not sure what an effective way of reminding the admin to change them for the holidays would be.  Otherwise I'd try and code up a mod.

If anyone has suggestions for a holiday they'd like to see (and maybe an example of smiley I could use), feel free to let me know.

That mod suggested on pg 1 would be great too - about setting auto smiley for certain dates.  And all those smileys are great. I like the st. patty's ones.
