Title: Autolinking
Post by: MrCue on March 14, 2004, 03:19:24 PM
.http://www.idontwork.com
1http://www.iwork.com
ahttp://www.iwork.com
http://www.iwork.com

Forgetting to put a space after the . caused it not to get linked.

It seems to me that you included a feature to hinder people from naming a link with an URL different from its target.
[url=http://www.somewhereelse.com]www.unsuspicious.net[/url]won't work. This seems to be a good idea but it causes trouble if there is no explanation to the poster, because
[url=http://www.somewhere.org]www.somewhere.org[/url]won't work either, though it is no kind of spoofing.
If you know the reason, it's no problem to type
[url]www.somewhere.org[/url]
or just type www.somewhere.org , as it gets autoliked, but it's confusing for those who want to use the BBCode as shown above.

As I said, this was a dumb typo, it's fixed in the latest packages on the download page.

Okay, thanks alot. I thought this was something slightly different from what MrCue mentioned, so I thought this additional feedback might be helpful. I'll try the newest files tomorrow, because it's 11:30 pm here...

as it gets autoliked

Interesting concept! ;)

/me has been wresting with the concept of hijacking a serious topic to comment on a rather attractive typo, but simply has to say that he'd quite like to be autoliked too...
