Hey Guys,
I am planning to start a online forum kindly advice me which are the downloads I should do for having the full features of the forum.
Thanks
SMF 1.0.6 is the latest stable release.
SMF 1.1 RC2 is the latest release of the 1.1 stream - which has many more features. It is a release candidate version, which means it is mostly stable, but not completely.
1.1 will be the latest stable release in probably a couple of months or so, when it's released.

Hi,
I'm completely new to all this but managed to set up webspace and load this wonderful software with not a single problem!
I'm v/Impressed. ;D
Now, it may be a stupid question but what is the difference between 1.1 RC2 and 1.0.6 (feature-wise etc).
I've loaded 1.0.6.
Cheers.
Max
I'd suggest downloading 1.1 RC2 to your computer and looking in 'changelog.txt'.

Sorry but I could not make much sense of the information contained in the file. It seemed to be a log of the history of changes to a particular piece of software.
What I really need is an overview of the various packages and what difference there is between them (like a MBs for dummies :P).
Cheers.

I would recommend you download the 1.0.6 install package.
1.1 RC2 has newer features but may have bugs.

It's not difficult, though there's a lot there.
If you scroll down to the very bottom, it will give you the key; it'll tell you what every symbol means, just look for the '+', for example, for added features or features that were improved.
Just look at every change from 1.0.6 and later.
