I want a mod that allows me to put the latest posts from my forum on my html front page.

I've looked for this mod, and found one, smf anywhere, that comes with no explanation on how to install. There was also a simpleportal mod, but that also doesn't seem to explain what it's meant to do. Is there a mod that lets you do this and comes with installation instructions?
