Ok I am really new to this so bear with me
I am moving my smf boards to a new hosting company
so far this is what I have done
backed up the database and recreated one in the new hosting co. I copied all the files under my "boards directory" to the new host
I see you can edit the database info in settings.php but When I do this I get an error
Connection Problems
Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later.
did I miss something?

Have you tried running repair_settings.php to help you reconfig the Settings?
What is repair_settings.php? (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=18096.0)
