Because of "diplomatic" answer to my previuos post I repeating the question separately:
3. What is normal or average time to generate pages for SMF in seconds or miliseconds?

2. Why don't you show how much time does it take to generate pages on this forum?
Are you afraid?
I'm kind of curious as to why it's not shown now as opposed to being shown before.
its probably not connected....but on my forum when I had the time taken to display the pages, my forum timed out from the database more often...
I'd guess that it wasn't built into this theme when it was created, as I just tried enabling it. I don't think there is any ulterior motive beyond that. Obviously it is interesting to look at information such as number of queries used and time taken to generate a page, but in the end there are a good deal of other factors to consider as well when choosing software. The number of visitors on the site will also affect the time taken to create a page.
To address your question in the other thread, I'm not sure why FUDForum seems to be faster out of the box than SMF. Obviously this statistic is dependant on your hardware and how the software is architected, though SMF does seem to be more feature robust than FUDForum. There are a good deal of large SMF installs which perform quite well, we have a list of some of them somewhere though I'm not sure off the top of my head.

You dont have the feeling how long it takes to load? I mean you have to see the numbers at the bottom to guess how much it takes?
It was showing before as anunlike stated. And last time it was showing was still SMF 1.1 RC2 and wasn't a different version. Since the theme is changed, maybe they didn't like that option or forgot to put.
Is that an obligation to put it anywhere? I dont remember I have ever seen a forum software having load time displayed at the bottom of their pages.
This is just an option to let the users to use or not according to their willing. You cant force anybody to wear blue t-shirts just because you love them, right? :)
That's why you don't answer "how much time is normal (or average) to generate pages for SMF"???
If you want to see a forum which is not afraid to show page generation times visit FUDforum... (0.00xx) - 10 times faster than SMF?
Or if you want "a feeling" of even more faster forum, check "Burning Board Forum".
I'm not affilated with them. I'm looking for a forum software and want important technical parameter. And it's not a question of taste.
Do you imagine if car sellers advertise their cars but without speedometers?
The board om fudforums site is a lot smaller than the SMF community forum, the hardware is of course totally different and therefore there can be no comparrison between the two even if page creation time was enabled.
If you want to see some creation times, look at my board, but bear in mind that a comparison between a board with almost 2 million posts and a few hundred users online compaired with one with 29972 posts and less than a hundred online are totally pointless.
I think cars should only go max up to 80 miles an hour but thats another issue. SMF has a larger feature sit so it may take more time but it all depends on your configure your server.
what I wanna know is why does it matter. .05 seconds...wow....that wasted a whole lifetime...honestly....

Allow me to be frank, but it seems you've already made up your mind on what software you wish to use. Without the number at the bottom of the page you can still get a feel for the software's speed. This also isn't always a good site to benchmark against since we're never running the release we say we are; right now we're starting to run code from the next release of SMF after 1.1 even though 1.1 Final is not yet released.
In terms of average time, hard to say since we don't collect statistics from every SMF install. We don't however have users complaining that SMF is slow.

Dont waste your valuable time, he cant get it... :-\
And also he cant get that SMF was already showing the load time, its newly removed, just a different theme..
