Our foorum is cowing very fast and it need more and more space, but I would like to have some information to be able to predict my needs of the hard disk and memory space...
1. How much the leight of the one post matters? (does the 5000 word post use 5 times more space than 5 posts 1000 word each?)
2. Does it matter how you have organised your topics?
3. What about avatars? How much they increase your space?
Could you also give some examples what size foorum uses how much hard disk space?
Here is some data of our system
Total Members: 100
Total Posts: 10 000
Total Topics: 400
Total Categories: 20
Is there anything should be different? Too many topics versus Categories etc.?
How much space we need in future? Can you give some examples how much Hard Disk YOUR system is using at the moment and what is Total Member, Total Posts:, Total Topics, Total Categories: in YOUR system? That way I could guess how much more space I need in the future...
Thank you!

The 5 posts will use slightly more than the 1, but it will be hardly noticable.

In terms of space? Not AFAIK.
Lainaa3. What about avatars? How much they increase your space?
Externally hosted avatars won't use any obviously. Attached avatars use up however much space the take up. the admin panel will tell you.

Looks ordinary. Looks like category bloat to me but that's just personally preference. You can see how much space it uses in phpMyAdmin or a similar tool.
I was also interestid general data of the other foorums... how big foorums you all have and how much disk space those other foorum need?
