This mod will add a "Profile Awards" and "Post Awards" field to the profile. Only admins can change it. The "Profile Awards" will be displayed in the profile, and the "Post Awards" will be displayed next to the user's posts. You can use BBC in both of them.
These settings:

Were there any errors in the install?
Mine works great on both my forums.
I have it in use at www.otek671.com with the custom theme. There are only one file that needs to be changed on a custom theme and thats the Display template. Very easy to do. Thanks again for the great mod!!
Version 1.1 has been released, which fixes a "Undefined index: profile_awards" error.
Really great mod...

Go to the the user's profile, and click on forum profile information.
thank you..
but, what I mean is..
how do I know for sure if someone out of hundered of user is the top poster of the day.. is there any statistic? I know there are total post count in "members" section but how do I choose a specific day / month and found out who post the most?
Can i install it on smf 1.0.5?

Are you using a custom theme?
um, yes and no. it's based off of the default theme. i see the bit of code in the profile template, it doesn't display on the default theme either.
wait, that's it *laughs* i forgot the rc2 default is not the default ours reads off of.
thanks!

If your using a custom theme.
Find this:

echo '

Replace with this:

echo '
', $txt[26], ': ', $message['member']['posts'], '';
if (!empty($message['member']['options']['profile_postawards']))
{
$postawards = parse_bbc($message['member']['options']['profile_postawards']);
echo '
Awards: ' . $postawards . '';
}
echo '
i found it, thanks for the help though! i hadn't even thought to check the themes (we don't use that new default one, so i forgot to even check it)
i'm using it as a supporter icon, so i also went in and got rid of the "award:" text, it's perfect!
Glad you got it working man. ;D ;D ;D
Thanks for the tip !

Installations actions for "Award Mod":
Installing this package will perform the following actions:
Type Action Description
1. Execute Modification ./Themes/default/Profile.template.php [color=red=Test failed[/color]
2. Execute Modification ./Themes/default/Display.template.php Test successful
I have moved some things in the profile template ie the avatar is now under the name instead of at the bottom of the posts, so could this be the problem and if so, is there some way to manually install this mod (I would need instructions though)
~thanks
btw I installed the custom profile fields mod with no problems so perhaps that isnt the problem?

Do this (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=77477.msg523365#msg523365) for display.template.php and for profile.template.php
Find:

Hope you can get it to work :)
PS: If you have the custom profile field mod 2.1 installed this mod really isn't needed, as you can just make 2 fields that are only editable by admins (one that is displayed in posts, and another thats displayed in profile).
OMG that is so cool
*rushes off to comment on custom fields mod*
You could add a set of different decorations and medals (with a link or alt-text description what they are) so a Mod or Admin just has to set up what meaning each one has and can grant them with a checkbox?

Not exactally, you can just put bbc in a members award field.
Other Boards have a set of Medals just like they have a set of ranks/stars. I was not asking if this mod can do it, i was sugesting it as another step of development :)
But until then i got to use special smileys i guess...?

You could use (http://rankimage.gif) for a special image, I haven't really worked on this mod at all for a long time but I might look into implementing that.
I'm having trouble installing this mod from the package menu... I also have the Custom Profile Mod installed, do they conflict with each other? :(
[Edit] Nevermind... I think there's another post about this.
too bad it's not compatible with 1.0.7 :(
can this mods be install manually on smf 1.0.7 ?
Sorry to bring up an old topic, but I'd love to see this made compatible with RC3. I looked briefly into it, and it looks like a minor change. (Though it's not my script, so I won't go mucking it up)
Very nice, i was thinking of making this mod myself but it looks like i've been beaten to it ;)
Actually... this is kind of cheap, but simply changing the "RC2" to "RC3" in the code looks like enough to make it compatible.
I've been using this simple little Mod for a little more than a month now, and I've found it so useful. Thanks again.
Version 1.11 has been released! This version adds 1.1 RC3 support.

Click browse on the smf_settings table, and then go to the sql tab and see if that works.

It will make it display more detailed errors from the file. If it breaks your forum, you can quickly undo it by running this query:
REPLACE INTO smf_settings

What do you mean by a front page block?
lol sorry, for Tiny Portal
Not really. Try Jay's Member Award mod. It would be a lot more feasible with that.
my bad
thought they were one and the same
Nice mod. But I'm getting this when I try to install with the package manager:
Type Action Description
1. Execute Modification ./Themes/default/Profile.template.php Test successful
2. Execute Modification ./Themes/default/Display.template.php Test failed
Tanix - What other mods do you have installed?
Although at this point I'd recommend you use this (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=475) mod instead.
Winrules, I've got quite a few installed on my test site. They are:
Reason For Editing Mod
LogModAccountEdits
SMF Arcade
SMF Staff Page
Group Moderators
User Post Limit Options
Board Notes
Topic description
SMFShop
Admin Notepad
Custom Profile Field Mod
vMulticolor-Stars Mod
LogModAccountEdits

vReportBoard Mod
I've had a quick look at the other mod you've recommended, looks quite good. As a matter of interest, why are you suggesting I don't use your mod?
You'll probally have to manually install it since you have so many mods installed.
I'd suggest you use the other mod because it is a lot better and I haven't updated this one in ages.
The only reason I'm keeping up to date with current version of SMF is so that people that were previously using it can continue to use it.
Understood. Many thanks for your prompt response.
I like this mod - however I would like to have the awards displayed in the Signature footer of each post rather than on the avatar column. What can I edit in the XML to make this happen ? :)
You'll have to edit the template file.

Might you be able to suggest what edit I need to make?
Hello winrules! I use your award mod and i´m very happy with it! It´s a very good idea.
But i have two questions about customizing your mod.
First i want to know how i add the text in the profil to the german language pack, because i use the board with that and when i want to change the awards, i have to change the board language.
Additionally i want to know how i can make that people can see the awards at the postings even if not the default theme is set (in this case PnPn). The profile awards work, but the post awards not in the pnpn theme.
I would be very grateful for your answer, and sorry for my bad english.
Thanks
Has anyone gotten this mod to work on this theme (http://custom.simplemachines.org/themes/index.php?lemma=192) in English?
Thanks.
Nice mod dude, Thanks!
Works great -- shows up in profile and posts. Thanks for the mod!
For people wondering how to make it work in different themes, see this:

Yeah i ment to post that in the other topic but i think at the time my browser was acting up lol.
Disregard that last post.
How to solve this?
Quote2. Execute Modification ./Themes/default/Display.template.php Test failed
Hiya, I have a problem when I install this mod. I have 2 forums both 1.1.2 and if I install on one (with a custom theme) it works fine. If I install it on the other (with the normal classic yabb theme) the mod installs correctly but all the links and add an award buttons don't show there are just gaps and spaces where the links should be! How odd! Any ideas? Thanks.
I think the mod only installs on the default theme, so basically u need to treat the classic theme as a custom theme and modify the appropriate files as indicated in the install file. Good Luck.
I think this mods can't be installed with SMF Shop...i try it and each mod resist each others
i have a request... :-[
could there be an extra field to manage displayed text "Awards:" for both profile page and posts? maybe have the field managed in admin?
mod is great! :D
thanks much for it 8)
I have installed the " Award 11-1 Mod" and it works perfect..It gives me two fields in the Profile where I name the award and the award........I have a small database with 240 registered users
Where can I find out exactly who I gave these awards to? These awards will change every month......I forgot who got them!!!!!
regards
Ron
I am getting an error and i can not find where to correct the lines, in fact it won't let me correct the lines!
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare template_awards() (previously declared in /home/marismar/public_html/Sources/Load.php(1768) : eval()'d code:2283) in /home/marismar/public_html/Sources/Load.php(1768) : eval()'d code on line 2565
please help
Hi There ,
Is it possible to make it so the award only displays in a particular board?
i.e. I only have 1 board in which these will be handed out and I would like to only have the awards field displayed on posts in that board.
I am not sure how to change these codes, i have messed up my board doing it once. Anyone want to help me please?
You appear to have the mod installed more than once...check the files it alters for duplicate entries.
no i took it out now, but when i try to reinstall it there is an error. I don't know how to mess with the codes, i am too scared to try it again i dont want to mess it up again!
SMF tell you, quite correctly, to do a backup of your files and database prior to adding any mod so that you will be in a position to restore from these backups should anything go wrong...if you've done that and read the SMF documentation then you should be perfectly save to work on your files. You might consider trying to restore your forum onto a spare database to make sure that you do know how to do it properly.
It doesn't look as though you've managed to completely remove a previous install of this mod as the error you reported indicates it as being installed twice over.
please show the preview picture or some links for the effect of the MOD.
regars.
Anyone can tell me this mod works on smf 1.1.3 or not?
Many thanks
Okay, for some reason, the Awards portion under the avatar is not working on Scribbles2 Theme. I recently upgraded from 1.1.2 to 1.1.4, and there is no problem with seeing the Awards under the avatar with my old theme "dilbermc" but when I switch the theme to Scribbles2, the Awards under the avatar is not there. The Award is visible in the profile, and I can alter that if I want to, but thats it? What can I do?
^ I have the same problem. I used to have a Dilbermc theme but when I switched to another theme, the award mod is not displaying anymore.
Is there anything we can do to fix this? And when will this be updated in 1.1.4 version? Thanks
Almost all mods only install automatically into the SMF default theme...all other themes are custom themes and for each of them you will need to follow the instructions given in the links below.

1.1.4 - It *should* work but i'd recommend using the Member Awards (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=475) mod instead.
2.0 Beta 3 Public - It will not work. However you can do almost the same thing with a custom profile field.
thanks winrules!! working on the beta now, think so anyway.. so wait and see what im putting together.. btw.. nice to meet ya :D
