I am unable to change the background color of the textarea and the quick reply textarea... where can I find that?

I know... thanks...

the problem is It seems I can't change the background color AND the font.
so I have
input, textarea, button
{

   background-color: #828282;
   font-size: 9pt;
   font-family: arial, helvetica, serif;
   color: #FFFFFFF;

but it seems not to work the color when you type is not becoming white...
why?? thanks

now the only last problem is where can I change the background color of the drop down menus?
the Login and JUMP TO remain white, no matter what I do,
