Just wanted to post a few early screencaps of my first theme for smf in order to gather a bit of constructive criticism.
As as I say its in the very early stages(just the boardindex view) and it's a bit rough round the edges so no live demo yet, however once it's in a fit state I'll post a link and then make it available for download.
The basic board index view (http://www.housemaidsknee.co.uk/Forum/boardindex.jpg)
Board index with side menu's collapsed (http://www.housemaidsknee.co.uk/Forum/collapsed.jpg)
In an attempt to keep everyone happy all the side menu blocks can be rearranged by dragging and dropping using the mouse or the arrow keys.
dragging the menu block 1 (http://www.housemaidsknee.co.uk/Forum/draggable.jpg)
dragging the menu block 2 (http://www.housemaidsknee.co.uk/Forum/dragging.jpg)
dropping the menu block (http://www.housemaidsknee.co.uk/Forum/dropped.jpg)
and that's about it for now, except I suspect the "Red" is a bit more pinkish than I realised but then perhaps the world is ready for a metrosexual skin ;D
Red (pink) is not my color but I realy like the overall look. Looks fresh and clear
I think you should make right table (with side menu) completly collapsable.
Keep up the good work! :D
Looks like a very nice theme and quite original. Nice job. :)
Looks very interesting. :) The dragging of boxes..using javascript for that?

Indeed see http://brothercake.com/site/resources/scripts/dbx/ (http://brothercake.com/site/resources/scripts/dbx/) for more info.
The movable menu isn't really necessary though and I'm not certain if many would actually use it but it sort of saves me the hassle of deciding what order things should go in, you can decide for yourself and a cookie records the state(open or closed) and the position of each box.
oh damn. When can we get a hold of this!! ;D
Looks great! Working on a similar one (the movable elements) but in my design the position of the elements are saved into the database preserving the look for the users ;)
Nice apart from one thing. The fading to white to the right makes my right eye go out of focus.
