Lots of equal words, but with different meaning.
Making the context be totally different. Sometimes qe just cant understand... it's no sense...

I guess it's a bit like American English and British English, but in Portuguese. He's doing a translation, but I don't know if there's much point in a Brazillian language support board.

Adding to that, I'll get a British English pack done eventually ;)

Norway, Sweden and Danmark has same situation. They are in same board ;)

I don't thik we need 2 sepparate boards for portuguese. We can understand each others well.

I run a forum wich has 60% portuguese and 40% brazillian members and I haven´t got any complaint abou the language!! We all get along very well and it has over 80.000 posts.

One thing I think that should be changed is the text describing the portuguese board. Instead of having: "Placa da ajuda do português" we should have: "Ajuda e Suporte em Português"

Me too would suggest to keep one board for all flavours of portuguese. But maybe change the board description to something with is ok for all portuguese speaking people, as ivogomez suggested. I guess it will then be ok and understandable for all if just every portuguese speaking guy writes in this common portuguese forum in his native dialect.

In addition I would like to suggest to maybe make an individual portuguese language pack for each dialect. Maybe one of the brazil-portuguese guys volunteers to make this pack or to adapt the european-portuguese language pack after Ivogomes has completed the translation?

I've already had a volunteer for that andrea :)

Yes we already have volunteers to make the brazilian-portuguese translation from the european version. I have a lot of brazillian friends asking for a brazillian version of the buttons.

So Andrea I think you can do the brazillian verision of the buttons (like in the PM) to make everybody happy!!

Ok ivogomes. Will post them with the next languages. The brazilian texts are already entered into the translator.

How about a new language forum for "Indian"

India is always nominated as IT nation, so an additional forum for India language wouldn't be bad or?

Do we have already a translator and a moderator for that language?

Urm, I think not. Languages in India consist of English, Hindi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Bengali, Telugu, Konkani, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil, Marathi, Kashmiri, Oriya, Urdu (in some cases) and Hindustani (as well as other regional dialects, and probably languages that I have missed).

We currently don't have translators for any of those languages (that I know of - no one has come to me), and my knowledge of Hindi will not stretch further than counting and saying my name, let alone translating SMF.

A child-board for all Indian languages would be pretty much a mess, so until we have folks translating any one of the particular languages I've meantioned (in particular: Hindi, Gujarati, Bengali, Tamil, Punjabi, Marathi or Urdu) then I don't think it's worth it.
