Is that possible,and what is the major difference between v1.0.7 and v1.1rc2 release.

I need to know this, I tried to use  the converter in the download section but it says it won't work for the newer version of smf, which is 1.1rc2

Well then you can first install the old version of SMF needed for the convertor. Convert your forum. Then upgrade to the latest version of SMF
