Title: Bridge 1.1.3, finally released....
Post by: Orstio on April 02, 2006, 12:43:47 PM
OK, it is attached to the bottom of this post.

Again, this bridge is compatible only with SMF 1.1RC2.  If you have any other version of SMF, please use bridge 3.19a instead.

For new installs:

Unzip the package, and find inside two files:  readme.html and com_smf.zip.  Read the readme.html, and install the com_smf.zip as a component.

For Joomla, you will not need to add code to your template, but for Mambo, you will.

For upgrades from 1.1.2:

Uninstall the bridge component, the bridge registration component, and the mod_smf_login module.  Remove the code from your Mambo/Joomla template.

Read the readme.html.  Install the com_smf.zip as a component.  Please note that for Mambo, the code in the template has changed significantly.  The code is no longer required for Joomla.

This bridge is released under the terms of the Simple Machines license.  Please do not redistribute.

Hi
I forgot
J! 1.0.8, SMF 1.1RC2, VirtueMart 1.0.4 installed in same DB

Another issuse in bridge configuration My forum is installed in my site root and folder /forum
Bridge  detect path as ../forum
Now I can change/assing groups and sync users Ok
Then try in frontend and I got errors

QuoteWarning: smf_header_include(): Unable to access ../forum/SSI.php in /httpd.www/mambots/system/SMF_header_include.php on line 63
Warning: smf_header_include(../forum/SSI.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /httpd.www/mambots/system/SMF_header_include.php on line 63
Fatal error: smf_header_include(): Failed opening required '../forum/SSI.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php') in /httpd.www/mambots/system/SMF_header_include.php on line 63
I understand it is wrong path OK
Go back to admin and change path to ./forum Now working perfect.

Go back to admin and bridge configuration then click on Groups or Sync tab and got this message
QuoteYou must first set your path to SMF and save once

Why this issuse?

It's not a big deal if  peopel know but...

Is this patch okay to use with the new patched RC2 forum software?
Title: Re: Bridge 1.1.3, finally released....
Post by: Orstio on April 02, 2006, 06:35:26 PM
QuoteBridge  detect path as ../forum

That's just a dummy default value.  At that point, it has not done any auto-detection.  You still need to put in an absolute path, instead of that relative path.

An absolute path is the whole path, for example:

/home/user/public_html/forum

A relative path has things like this:

../../forum

Make sure it is an absolute path, not a relative path.

QuoteIs this patch okay to use with the new patched RC2 forum software?

Yes, it works fine.  I'm not making any guarantees yet about SMF 1.1 Final.  I'm going to wait until Compuart is done with all the UTF-8 compatibility issues before tackling that.

I am using:

Forum:  SMF 1.1RC2
Joomla:  1.08
Bridge:  1.1.3

My clients path is a long one and it keeps chopping some off:-

Im getting these errors:

Warning: smf_header_include(..forum/SSI.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /hsphere/local/home/markhan/mysite.com/clients/mambots/system/SMF_header_include.php on line 63

Fatal error: smf_header_include(): Failed opening required '..forum/SSI.php' (include_path='.:/hsphere/shared/apache/php/lib/php') in /hsphere/local/home/markhan/mysite.com/clients/mambots/system/SMF_header_include.php on line 63

I click for the absolute path and it brings up:-

/hsphere/local/home/markhan/mysite.com/clients/forum

then I click on save and it shortens it to:-

/hsphere/local/home/markhan/mysite.com/c

I've got a strange problem :D  I've updated 2 sites and it's perfect but on the last site I use a 'static content' page as the home/main page and if I type in just the domain name I get:

Please select a page from the main menu.

If I click on the menu link it's fine, I've double checked and it's the first itmem on the menu etc

This is puzzling, because the javascript that is looking for document.adminForm.task should only execute on clicking Save.

Does it also do this if you try synching users, or just when synching groups?

I just tested, thanks for the info.

For some reason, on that particular page, some of your header is being output before the actual page headers.  It doesn't make any sense, because it is set up exactly like the rest of the pages....

Is it related to the header bot?

Did you have static content as the first item in your menu before installing the bridge?

Hi,
Yes home page has always been static. What's the header bot? (do you mean the old smf bridge code - if yes I removed that first and have double checked it's not there) I've tried deleting the static content and doing another page but it still won't display in the home position. I've global checked in, and cleaned all caches, tried resaving it, checked the publishing & expiry dates, checked the config file etc but still when you type in the url it won't display only when you click on 'home'.

It's really strange & I'm at a loss as to how to fix it. It all went so well on the other sites but they're using the frontpage component :D
Title: Re: Bridge 1.1.3, finally released....
Post by: Orstio on April 02, 2006, 08:59:02 PM
There is now a bot that replaces the header code for you automatically.

I'm not sure that the bot will work correctly on static content items.

It shouldn't, except for the group synch page itself.  This is mainly for installs where there is already a fairly large SMF userbase before bridging, anyway.  Once SMF 1.1 Final is out, the groups will be synched immediately when you change them in the SMF profile.

Hi there!  I just installed the 1.1.2 bridge yesterday too!   ::)

Oh well thx for your work on this.  I uninstalled the 1.1.2 bridge as in your instructions in your first post and installed the 1.1.3 bridge.  Everything looks ok so far.

I'm running Joomla 1.0.8 and SMF 1.1RC2.  I've also got Coppermine 1.4.4 bridged to the SMF.

Thanks!  :)

Hello,

Thank you for this bridge. But I do have a problem with it: I use Joomla 1.0.8 and SMF1.1RC2, but the key point is that I have to use russian usernames. So, I've got a problem - when user is trying to log in, he redirected to the page /index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=20&action=login2 with "Wrong password" message. When he enters the same password again, everything works fine...

UPD: I have Menalto Gallery installed and "bridged" as well, and such a users with russian names have "migrated" in the g_hashedPassword table instead of hash for users with english names - maybe this fact could help to understand what is going wrong?

UPD1: It seems that the problem is with "password" in the jos_users table: it has "migrated" value for these users... Does anybody know why value is "migrated" instead the real hashed password?

SOLVED: It was a problem not with bridge, but with SMF itself. Was fixed by removing hidden input fields "hash_passwrd" from all login .php files.

Awesome work, Orstio...thank you!!
I've come across (2) things that I can't seem to beat:

1. When using the 'bridged' registration, I've seemed to have loss the agreement part although it's checked in the config.

2. When I 'wrap' the forum within my site, the main topic boards within a category give error 404 when they're clicked, although the listings in  recent posts, last posts with topic & msg# are properly clickable.

Joomla! 1.0.8
SMF 1.1 rc2 (w\recent SMF patch)
Same database.

For testing, you can see the 'wrapped' test by using the '>' link on the upper left 'Menu'. The topmenu 'Forum' is just an external link to the forum unwrapped.

Hi - thx for the bridge update - GREAT WORK!

My question goes for the Login module..
When trying everything else but the align "center" option the modules below gets dragged up so that the login text dissapears beneath them...
I know it sounds strange and was just wondering if it's only me experiencing this problem - maybe it has something to do with my joomla template...

I've attached a screen shot... The language is Danish but I guess that you get the picture  ;)

Users that are migrated from SMF to Joomla will have "migrated" in the password field until they change their pasword in their profile.  This is because Joomla cannot understand the SMF password hash.  SMF does not use MD5 like Joomla.

QuoteSOLVED: It was a problem not with bridge, but with SMF itself. Was fixed by removing hidden input fields "hash_passwrd" from all login .php files.

This is essentially disabling a security feature of SMF.  It is not recommended.

Mine seems to have got horribly worse -I used the "migrate SMF users to Joomla" to see if that would help - now in both smf & joomla I've got blank pages of members that don't have usernames or emails and registered in 1969  :D
I'm not sure what to do now - or whether I should try to restore a backup of the site.

Something I'm not sure about is how the bridge is supposed to handle the groups in SMF and Joomla.  Plus all the syncing or migrating in that sync tab in the SMF bridge configuration.  I had different accounts registered in SMF and Joomla before the bridge.  I set in the bridge config that a SMF administrator was equal to a Joomla superadministrator but the acct registered originally on SMF didn't show as a superadministrator in Joomla.  That SMF acct also couldn't log into the Joomla admin panel.  I tried the migrate and sync buttons in the sync tab but no change.  I had to go into the Joomla admin panel with the acct originally registered in Joomla and make him a superadministrator.

New registrants after the bridge show up in both but if I make him an administrator in SMF he isn't a superadministrator in Joomla.  It works in the other direction too.  If I make him a superadministrator in Joomla I have to go into SMF and make him an administrator.  I don't get the sync tab functions.

I'm using Joomla 1.0.8 and SMF 1.1RC2 .  I chose bridge registration.

Another weird thing I noticed.  Sometimes when I log out using the logout button on SMF (not the one on the bridge login module) this popsup.

(http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c1/dyinfree/smflogout.jpg)

Sometimes it says you can't moderate or you can't access that.  It doesn't affect anything cause you are logged out.  Just thought I'd mention it.

Yes, you will get that error if you are in the SMF admin panel when you logout.  This is a good thing, because you don't want people who are not logged in (as admins) to access the admin panel.

Set the synch settings in the Groups tab.  Save the settings the way you want them.  Then go to the Synch tab, and press the bottom button to perform an "instant synch" of all user groups.

When SMF 1.1 Final is released, it will include the Group settings as part of the profile changes.  So, when you change the Group of  user in SMF, it will automatically change the Group in Joomla as well.  But, that isn't included in SMF 1.1 RC2.

Is this the bridge version that will require changes to the searchbot to get config info from the database?
Title: Re: Bridge 1.1.3, finally released....

Yes.  The good news there is, for Joomla, the SMF SSI is included in a system bot ahead of time.

So, you didn't read the readme.html.....

Quote from: readme.htmlMake sure the following folders are writable (chmod 777) before installing the component:
  /components
  /modules
  /mambots/system
  /administrator/components

Actually, I did read and follow those instructions fully.  Even with chmod 777 for all those folders, I got those warnings -- both times (for 2 separate installations).

Can we get rid of that hack which avoided the user to go to the unwrapped version of the site and made him come back to the wrapped version?

that "hack" was applied to the SMF files...   this bridge does not change any SMF files at all....    so, if you still want any user that goes to the stand-alone forum to bounce into the wrapped forum, then NO, you can not get rid of that hack.

(that is not a standard part of the bridge)

Congratulations on the new version!

However i got a problem...

I use the "Unwrapped" version and it seems to be working ok, however when im in the mainpage of the site and i press the "login", "register" or "forgot your password" link it leads me to a wrapped version of the forum that looks pretty ugly... (I use the SMF Registration option)

I think there is some problem with the SMF Registration Integration, because if i change the type (to the bridged mode, for example) it will remove my background and screw up the css a bit..

The login link looks like this: http://mywebsite.com/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=43&action=login

The "login" link always leads to the wrapped version not matter what "SMF Registration Integration" that I use...

And yes, i do use the "Unwrapped" option ;)

What could this be?

To fix it for now, find this on line 244 of smf.php:

if (!$with_output || !$wrapped)

And change it to this:

if (!$with_output || $wrapped !='true')

Hi.  New to SMF.  Glad to have found it.

I'm using Joomla! 1.8, SMF 1.1 RC2 and the bridge attached to this post.

Everything looks OK through a browser but if I view the source of a SMF (wrapped) page, the HTML is pretty mucked up.  There are 2 <html><body></body></html> sections; I'm guessing one is from my Joomla template and the other from the SMF template.

Is this standard behavior or have I done something wrong?

Also, the SMF stylesheet seems to be included on every Joomla page now (not just forum pages).  Again, just wondering if this is intended behavior.

Thanks

yup... that's how things will work.

If you want to get rid of the double body tags, etc, then run the html cleanup mod from goosemoose. (this runs on the three standard themes that come with smf; for other themes, you will have to apply the changes manually)

as for the smf css, yes... that is now declared in the system bot that the bridge installs.

I've noticed something but I'm not sure if its because of the bridge.  I'm new to Joomla and SMF so forgive me if this is common knowledge.  The TinymceWYSIWYG editor doesn't work.  Whenever I go to edit or create new content with it on I can't exit the page.  I try apply, save, cancel  none of those buttons do anything.  All I can do is log out.  If I turn off the editor than I can edit/create content.

I don't know much html so I would really like a WYSIWYG editor.  If this isn't because of the bridge and it really doesn't work in Joomla then is there a good one I can install?

Thanks

Hello,

I have just finished upgrading my bridge to the new 1.1.3 and like another user that has posted here I have a problem with the Registration Agreement not showing.

I have Forum:  SMF 1.1RC2 with Joomla:  1.08 and Bridge:  1.1.3

I tried chaning between the Bridge Registration and the SMF Registration in Joomla Admin from the SMF Bridge Configuration.

Does anyone know what i have wrong or how I can fix this as I have read this post from page 1 to 5 and I do not see any resolutions posted for this issue as posted by: Genbushi on April 03, 2006  (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=79530.msg532087#msg532087)

I sure would love to hear from anyone that can help with this please.

Thanks

Kind regards
Melanie

Hi mdgphoto,

I was able to fix this by accessing your mysql database, browsing to the jos_smf and in here there is the area value1 that is set to VARCHAR(50) you need to edit this and change it to VARCHAR(70)

Hope that helps.

Cheers

Joomla:  1.08

My clients path is a long one and it keeps chopping some off:-

Im getting these errors:

Warning: smf_header_include(..forum/SSI.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /hsphere/local/home/markhan/mysite.com/clients/mambots/system/SMF_header_include.php on line 63

I click for the absolute path and it brings up:-

/hsphere/local/home/markhan/mysite.com/clients/forum

then I click on save and it shortens it to:-

/hsphere/local/home/markhan/mysite.com/c

I keep getting these same errors, i tried chaging the value1 to VARCHAR(70) but then i get another error about an argument on line 43, i'm really new to this stuff though, so sorry, i guess i really didn't understand what it mean to change field value1 to VARCHAR(70), please help :(

Mambo/Joomla default poll module has never worked with the bridge.  There are variable name collisions between that module and SMF.

I suggest using a different poll system like Poll_XT or EXTPoll.

OK, I've installed the new bridge. I'm not sure if anyone's posted on this, but the pathway addition to the template that worked in the last version of the bridge still works. I'm going to see if I can turn this into a system plugin (more because I want to learn how they work), but for now, it's good to go.

I've tested the searchbot. Does it make sense that taking out these two lines from the searchbot file would make the searchbot work?

//include($mosConfig_absolute_path . "/administrator/components/com_smf/config.smf.php");
//include($smf_path . "/Settings.php");

It seems to work. I chose those two lines to remove based on examining the code that needs to be added to the template in Mambo. That code seemed to use the new db settings, so I assumed the Joomla system bot was doing the same thing.

But that's really just a guess, so if anyone could confirm that the new bridge provides both sets of capabilities to the bot, I'd appreciate it.

Once I've tested it a little more, I'll post a new version.

Cool.  Yes, the system bot is basically just replacing the code in the Joomla template header with something SMF-friendly.

You may need this in there instead, however:

// Get the configuration.  This will tell Mambo where SMF is, and some integration settings
$database->setQuery("
SELECT `variable`, `value1`
FROM #__smf_config
");
$variables = $database->loadAssocList();

foreach ($variables as $variable){
$variable_name = $variable['variable'];
$$variable_name = $variable['value1'];
}

if (!defined('SMF'))
{
require_once($smf_path . '/SSI.php');
}

That will pull all the bridge variables from the database.

I'm getting errors during installation using 1.1.3, similar to what others have reported, but I don't see a resolution to these errors in this thread.  So:

I did a fresh install (in other words, no upgrade here) using a newly created single database, as follows:

* Mambo 4.5.3h
* Community Builder 1.0 RC2

I configured CB including publishing its login module (CB Login RC2).  All working fine.

I then installed SMF 1.1 RC2, which went cleanly.  I did a component install of com_smf.zip in the Mambo back end.  I get this error (a pair like this, I only show one of them here):

Warning: rename( .../administrator/components/com_smf/bots/SMF_header_include.php, .../mambots/system/SMF_header_include.php):
No such file or directory in ... /administrator/components/com_smf/install.smf.php on line 104

where the "..." is the full path on my site.

There is a file "/administrator/components/com_smf/bots/SMF_header_include.php", and "mambots" has 777 permissions, so why didn't this work?

Earlier in this thread, there was a post of this same error, and the analysis was "don't install the bridge twice".  I didn't!

There isn't any directory "system" in mambots, if that makes any difference.

So do I do this rename by hand?  And why didn't it working during installation?

yes. it makes a difference.

If there's no mambots/system directory, how can the program copy something INTO the mambots/system directory?

move
"/administrator/components/com_smf/bots/SMF_header_include.php" to mambots/system/SMF_header_include.php

move
"/administrator/components/com_smf/bots/SMF_header_include.x" to mambots/system/SMF_header_include.xml

Thank you for the detailed post.

The header bot goes in the mambots/system folder, not in the mambots folder.  You are correct that Mambo 4.5.3h does not have a system folder inside the mambots folder.

That header bot functions only in Joomla, at any rate, so you have no need to worry.  Mambo 4.5.3h does not have the internal structure to run such a thing. (However, Mambo 4.6 will be more than capable ;) )

Notice: Undefined variable: memID in .../components/com_smf_registration/smf_registration.php on line 390

Notice: Undefined variable: mos_id in .../components/com_smf_registration/smf_registration.php on line 424

Notice: Undefined variable: mos_id in .../components/com_smf_registration/smf_registration.php on line 424

I'm running:

* Mambo 4.5.3h
* Community Builder 1.0 RC2
* SMF 1.1 RC2 (wrapped)
* SMF Bridge 1.1.3

I'm using the "bridge registration".

To attempt to work around the second error (there are really only two errors here, because 'mos_id' is twice undefined, generating a double error message), I did this:

This code, around line 419:

//Do you have Community Builder?  Might has well get them in there too...
if ($cb_reg=="on")
$sql = mysql_query("
INSERT INTO {$mosConfig_dbprefix}comprofiler
(id, user_id)
VALUES ('$mos_id', '$mos_id')");

I modified as follows:

//Do you have Community Builder?  Might has well get them in there too...
if ($cb_reg=="on") {
// Added by Dana 4-8-06
$mos_find_id = mysql_query("
SELECT id
FROM {$mosConfig_dbprefix}users
WHERE name = '$row->name'
LIMIT 1");
list($mos_id) = mysql_fetch_row($mos_find_id);
// End added by Dana 4-8-06
$sql = mysql_query("
INSERT INTO {$mosConfig_dbprefix}comprofiler
(id, user_id)
VALUES ('$mos_id', '$mos_id')");
}

This seems to work, and it also fixes another problem, which is CB wasn't finding out that the user had confirmed their registration.  Prior to making the above patch, CB knew the user had kicked off the enrollment process, but never found out they had clicked on the e-mailed link to confirm.

The one thing I wasn't sure of in this code is the "$row->name".  That seems to have the user's "username" in it, but I've no easy way to know if that's where I should be getting it from.

Now, regarding the first error, I just have to ask, what is the significance of setting the user's password to "chocolate cake"?  I had NO CLUE how to fix that!  Maybe carrot cake?  More seriously, $mem_ID only appears once in this module, so I couldn't deduce what it does.

Does it work if you do this? (It'll save some queries if it does):

//Do you have Community Builder?  Might has well get them in there too...
if ($cb_reg=="on")
$sql = mysql_query("
INSERT INTO {$mosConfig_dbprefix}comprofiler
(id, user_id)
VALUES ('".$row->id."', '".$row->id."')");

Joomla will allow a user to select the same real name as another user.  This is a security concern.

So, I put in the "chocolate cake" code, which prevents users from registering a real name that is already in use, or a reserved name according to the list defined in the SMF admin panel.  :P

Version 0.6 of the searchbot is now available (http://www.princeclan.org/component/option,com_docman/Itemid,91/task,cat_view/gid,79/). It is for use only with v 1.1.3 of the bridge.

No new features other than compatibility with the bridge have been added.

I would really appreciate it if someone running Mambo could please confirm that this works with Mambo - I only have Joomla to test on.

Orstio, this code:

//Do you have Community Builder?  Might has well get them in there too...
if ($cb_reg=="on")
$sql = mysql_query("
INSERT INTO {$mosConfig_dbprefix}comprofiler
(id, user_id)
VALUES ('".$row->id."', '".$row->id."')");

works fine.  Much nicer not to have to do an additional query.  Thanks.

I distracted you with my question about chocolate cake.

What I really wanted was a fix for the problem that in this code in smf_registration.php:

if(isReservedName($_POST['realName'], $memID))
$regOptions['password'] = 'chocolate cake';

the variable $memID isn't defined.

it should work just as well like this:

if(isReservedName($_POST['realName']))

I'm just confirming that:

works fine (well, it doesn't throw a PHP error, to be precise).

Well, I've got no hope of debugging it. If someone with Mambo wants to play with the include files and the template code I'd be happy to integrate their findings, but as of now there's nothing I can do about this. Sorry.

I got it working by replacing this:

//include($mosConfig_absolute_path . "/administrator/components/com_smf/config.smf.php");
//include($smf_path . "/Settings.php");

with this:

// Get the configuration.  This will tell Mambo where SMF is, and some integration settings
$database->setQuery("
SELECT `variable`, `value1`
FROM #__smf_config
");
$variables = $database->loadAssocList();

foreach ($variables as $variable){
$variable_name = $variable['variable'];
$$variable_name = $variable['value1'];
}

if (!defined('SMF') && $_VERSION->PRODUCT = "Mambo")
{
require_once($smf_path . '/SSI.php');
}

OK. I don't have time to update the searchbot right now, but as long as your instructions are here, people can still make use of it. I'll try to get to it later this evening, but it probably won't happen until Tuesday earliest.

That most likely has something to do with caching.

FWIW, I get that same thing here on the SMF Community.

Sorry for this, but i am very embroyed
I have J 108, SMF 11RC2 and the Ostiio bridge 112. The log in and log out, work fine. I use the form SMF bridge with permission of the administrator.
The problem is that one user is registered in  SMF, don´t appear in J 108. ( the admin set the permission in smf with email, but in J 108, dont appear.
Do you know if this works in 113. Or is a eror or a big pretension that this work
Thanks

Just installed this, huge improvements over the previous version and over joomlahacks bridge.

Love the group merging, that is a fantastic feature. Well done Orstio!

The only problem I'm having is that unless I leave the alignment of the login module centered, it messes up the layout of my template. I'm using Internet Gazette by Rocket Theme. Hope it's not a problem that I'm posting this here rather than in a specific template discussion forum - the problem is only happening with the new login module :(

Currently this is how the module looks to a guest:

http://socialinsight.net/login.jpg (http://socialinsight.net/login.jpg)

This is how it displays when I align it left or right:

http://socialinsight.net/login2.jpg (http://socialinsight.net/login2.jpg)

Is there any code within the module that I can alter to align it all left more tidily?

You can put a <br /> after the Username textbox...
Title: Re: Bridge 1.1.3, finally released....
Post by: socialinsight on April 09, 2006, 09:09:54 PM
No offense, but what may seem mind numbingly simple to you can be infuriatingly complicated for people who have only just started learning.

I don't need you to hold my hand while I pee or anything, Just bear with me. Please.

I have tried applying a CSS suffix for alignment but that doesn't work. The alignment within the module settings doesn't work either. You suggest trying a <br /> tag, sure, where? I tried putting it in the post text, no results.

I'm not sure which file I should be editing in order for me to clearly space out the login form with css or HTML tags.

All I want to do is have the login box look as tidy and left aligned as the standard joomla login form is.

In mod_smf_login.php (in your modules folder), find this:

',$txt[35],': <input type="text" name="user" size="10" />

Change it to this:

',$txt[35],': <input type="text" name="user" size="10" /><br />

Thank you, much appreciated.

I also edited the code further to make sure the login fields line up dead on when centered, as the password field was still out a little.

Once again, great bridge Orstio, thank you for the support and the patience.

People who are using my site in IE are either getting a Stack Overflow at Line: 433 or Out of Memory at Line 404

I've searched the forums for the first error, but nothing came up with any relevance.  Any thoughts?

Add this near the beginning of smf.php:

// Raise the memory limit -- Loading Mambo/Joomla and SMF can take a lot of RAM
@ini_set('memory_limit', '16M');

A quick note on formatting - on line 95, there is a:

style="font-family: verdana, arial, sans-serif;"

This overrides any styles the user has pre-defined, forcing the login box to use those fonts.  It's a minor isue, but it needs to be re-edited every time a new verison comes out.  ;)

I also modded mine to show HRs instead of BRs, which to me makes it look a bit more organized:

I completely agree. Great work.

But I'm having a small problem after upgrading to the new bridge: some few users in my portal(I'm one of them) only log to SMF, but not to Joomla when using the login module that is zipped with the bridge. The strange thing is that it only happens to, maybe, 10 out of 500 users. In my case, I've tried with different browsers, from different computers (even from a Mac), I've deleted all the cookies and the browser cache, but no way. I know another user who can log correctly from his laptop, but not from his PC.

I've created a new user, and it logs correctly, but I want to keep my old user. What can be causing that error?

Thanks in advance.

I still can´t introduce the absolute path because its limited to 50 chars. How can I change this? Whats the file, whats the table?

Edited: Ok, I find the way to increase the absolute path chars. Phpmyadmin > jos_smf_config > value 1 > change 50 to any higher value that fit your absolute path.

Now Another Problem: With the bridge installed, the original pool module from Joomla don´t work. Keep asking to activate de cookies. When I uninstall the bridge the Pool module back to work. Anybody knows how to solve this problem?

I'm hoping you mean "poll" module, and not pool module...

I think I've said this enough times already, but here goes again....

SMF and the Joomla default poll module both use the same variable name.  They use that variable name for different things.  This is called a variable name collision.  Because of this, the default Joomla poll module is not compatible with SMF.

This is nothing new.  This has ALWAYS been the case, even back to Mambo 4.5.0.  There is no workaround, there is no codefix that will solve the problem securely and functionally.

Your best bet is to switch to a 3rd party poll module like PollXT or eXiT_Poll.  Those will work fine with SMF.
