Otsikko: Install and Working Directory Issue
Kirjoitti: devless - huhtikuu 22, 2006, 01:15:31 AP
SMF Version: SMF 1.0.5
Hi there,

I've attempted to install SMF 1.0.5 unsuccessfully!

My server host uses SMF 1.0.5 so unfortauntely I do not have any upgrade choice.

I have tried installing on my HOSTED SERVER using Fantastico, but also have the EXACT same problem occuring on my development PC using a manual install.

I have verified and triple verified my user settings.

I install the SMF to:
www.mydomain.com/forum

I can run the initial forum page www.mydomain.com/forum/index.php successfully. However if I attempt to select anything on the page (ie, home, help and other buttons) the page errors to PAGE NOT FOUND, because SMF keeps looking for the file forum.php in the root directory www.mydomain.com  , NOT in the correct directory of www.mydomain.com/forum.

This should be any easy solution, however I cannot determine which file is setting the directory incorrectly. I have verified my Settings.php file and all seems to be okay.

HELP PLEASE!! :)

1. Id contact your host advising them to upgrade to 1.0.7 if they dont id look elsewhere.

2. Try running repair.setting.php (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=18096.0)

I already have an established business on this hosting provider, and thus moving my account elsewhere is not viable at the moment. Surely v1.0.5 WORKED before.

Can't find the repair.setting.php... where can I download this from?
