Hey,
I would like to modify the SMF software so new topics appear in boldface. What is the best way to do that? I took a little stroll through the sources but couldn't find the place where the html is actually created and sent to the browser.
My plan was to define a new CSS class, maybe .newpost, which I could then set in the theme's .css file to be boldface.
Also, and sorry for doubling up questions here, but I just thought of this when I saw how your forum does it, it would be nice if there could be a better way to indicate that a topic is sticky; since I want to make new topics bold, then maybe bold + italics? Or perhaps a different color (though this might conflict with the default style for a tags)?
Anyway, some guidance would be appreciated. Thanks!
Nathan
first one im not sure
however second part is simple, open your style.css look for
look for .windowbg3 and make it look like below or similar.
.windowbg3
{
color: #000000;
background-color: #E0E1E8;
font-weight: bold;
text-decoration: underline;
}
Sloopz--thanks for the reply, but the style.css for our board doesn't define a windowbg3. Furthermore, when I do a View Source on the file, the sticky topics use the normal windowbg class. Is this maybe a 1.1rc feature?
Thanks,
Nathan
ah im guessing you on 1.0.7 then, if so RC2 has the feature
OK, thanks.
Soooo....anyone else want to give me tips about how to get new topics in bold? Or should I perhaps ask in a different board that has to do with source modification?
I would like to do this too (new topics bold)??
Could someone just tell me where to start searching,`cause at this point i`m absolutely clueless...
I would appreciate it
Look at this: http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=83429.msg660016#msg660016
The first code box would be for removing the new icon, the others are a find and replace for making topic titles bold.
Thank you very much for this,
I searched but didn`found that topic.
Thank you one more time.
