Otsikko: upgrade to 1.1 RC2 gone wrong
Kirjoitti: nttext - huhtikuu 28, 2006, 11:51:32 AP
SMF Version: SMF 1.0.7
Hi,

I have uploaded all the files for 1.1 RC2 to my server, but when I point my browser at the upgrade file, the message I get is a 'file not found' error. I have amended the permissions as for the files as suggested - still no go.

One possible solution: my server appears to still have some of the older files of the same name (some with a tilda after the name). I did click on 'overwrite' when uploading, but maybe this did not happen.

I don't know? Any suggestions?

Andrew

Which package did you use? The 1.1 RC2 upgrade package? If not, upload the files from that package. If you did you the correct package, does upgrade.php exist in the forum root directory? If so, which CHMOD value does it have? If not, upload it.

Aaron.

Yes, upgrade.php exists in the root directory. Its permission is set at 644 at the moment.

I've changed the permission on upgrade.php to 777 but no better result

(BTW - the sticky message about FTP problems mentions setting permissions on install.php but not upgrade.php; is this just a mistake or are people supposed to guess that install.php means upgrade.php?)

I don't know if this will help, but one other thing is that when I try to access the forum itself through the browser it tells me I do not have permission to go to Forum/index.php
