Hello,
I must admit that I know very little about php programming , but I've buried my face in my share of html files. I'm having a very difficult time working with the index.template.php file to create my own template because I'm always breaking it.
The thing is, I'm just looking to format the same information a little differently than the original template.
For example, the part that says this in the top right of the forum
"2 Posts in 2 Topics by 1 Members

needs to be moved to the center. Well, it's just an issue of copying and pasting the code into the TD or DIV of my choice but sometimes this is difficult and tricky to do. This example above is actually quite simple and I figured it out fairly quickly. However, I'm having hell with the following part:
Welcome, Guest. Please login or register.

This has been a total nitemare that I've spent at least 4 hours trying to simply place it into a DIV or TD.
I'm not asking for support here (just to clarify). I'm stating that it would be MUCH simpler for people to customize the look of SMF (the one flaw keeping SMF from totally dominating in my opinion) if the code for "Welcome, Guest, Please login or register" was an included file that I can could easily cut and paste into any div or td I wanted.
Thanks,
Brandon Drury
why not just add an attribute to the existing code...align="center" to the td for that particular piece?
That's a good question.
For whatever reason, the "hardcore coding" shut down normal functions of my brain. When I came to my senses, the solutions couldn't have been any more obvious.
Thanks for the reply though.
Brandon
