May I know how do you install MODs for SMF? Do i need to change the codes myself like phpbb... phpbb is giving me headaches for installing MODs then changes the script again for any further upgrades..
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Just another question about MODs in SMF.
Did the mod really modify sources files of the SMF "Kernel" or are they just act as "pluggins". My problem with phpbb is that mods could sometime make an update of the initial sources (phpbb 2.18 to 2.19, as exemple) in hours of reading "update patchs" to see if any of my mods had modifiy originals phpbb files and of cause made the update patch not to work !
In otherword, is mod working as phpbb'mods or (bettter way) as Word Press Pluggin ?
Most mods alter the source files, but that's not a problem. Make sure you backup, and you'll be fine.

The probleme isn't in the MOD itself but, i've got a phpbb forum with some extra "mod", everytime the phpbb community send us an "sources" update, that patch counl'd be applyed as it because many of the FIND " ... put some php code here ... " coundn't find anything !
SMF do occasionally make small securuity updates, but these effect security related files. They don't touch templates, and they won't touch normal 'feature' files unless there was a major risk in those features. So unless your mod is changing those security related files, you should be fine. And if it does change those files.. well it wouldn't be a safe mod to install.
