I've attached a screenshot of the current layout of my forum and my would-be layout. I need help to code the would-be layout. Please tell me which templates to edit and what codes to add. Thanks.
What I wanna do is just simple:
1. Change main background to blue.
2. But the background of the entire board should be white (see attached). I tried changing in css file:

but it affected ALL background of the forum. What I want is the board to have a white background and the left and right side to be blue (as I said in #1).
3. Under the main menu, I want to have a red row where I can place some Google Adsesne codes.
Please check my screenshot below. FYI, I did the would-be version in Photoshop :) Hopefully someone can help me with the codes. Thanks!
Also, one simple question guys. How can I shrink the width of the main forum? Right now, my forum spans from left to right of the entire window but I want it to be in the center only, occupying roughly 90-95% of the window or probably a fixed 800 width. How can I do this?
