Otsikko: PM Moderation?
Kirjoitti: SergeantAsh - toukokuu 14, 2006, 12:34:32 IP
Looking for a way to moderate or at least monitor PM's sent between members? Is this possible? If so how? Potential for member to member abuse within my particular forum and want to ensure that its policed before the user feels they have to report the member.

There's no method to be able to monitor and, especially, moderate PMs via SMF and there are no mods for doing either. I believe that SMF, in general, is opposed to giving access to PMs, as it's seen as a violation of privacy.

However, if you have phpMyAdmin, you can do so.

I guess thats fair enough, once a PM is deleted is it removed from the DB?

Incidently, I notice in your signature that you mention Members Writings, this is a mod that sounds suitable for my purposes too, but I can't find any reference to it on this site. Could I have some info?

Cheers, Ash

There's no mod for PM's to be looked at in SMF by an admin. Its been discussed time and time again.

However, if a PM is deleted by both parties then its gone from the DB, if only one party deletes it, then its still there.

Ok thanks for that. Another question relating to PM - after you apply a LABEL can you not 'archive' the message as with GMail, so that its stored but doesn't appear within your inbox?
