Otsikko: Database Problem
Kirjoitti: emock81 - toukokuu 15, 2006, 10:34:46 IP
SMF Version: SMF 1.0.7
An error occurred with SMF and I had to reinstall it.  I don't have a backup for the database but it is still in tact on my server.  I have successfully reinstalled SMF but I can't get it to read the information that is still in the database.  I have tried numerous suggestions through posts here but I am really pulling my hair out on this one.  I don't know phpMyAdmin well but I do have it through my server.  Any suggestions?  Thanks.

To be honest I don't quite follow. First you say you don't have a backup of your forum database and then you add that its still intact? If you are just re-installing 1.07 upload clean files for everything and use the repair_settings tool to correct the MySQL info part.

As long as its the same server and the database is working you should have no problem.

What is repair_settings.php? (http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php?topic=663)

I tried running repair_settings.php.  I did adjust a couple URLs but the database settings are correct.  I still can't get the old posts, memberlists, etc.  Any other suggestions?

Have you changed the database prefix in Settings.php to match that of the other tables? It sounds like the database prefix is wrong.

YES!  The prefix was incorrect!  I didn't realize that the database had two somehow and now I fixed it.  Thank you so much!
