Hi I need some help. The forum site was temporarily disabled by the hostingĀ due to the following reasons:
NOTE: domain is a dummy name. Forum have only 15 users, bandwidth today was only 3 mb.
Your website, has been flagged for using excessive system resources in it's shared hosting environment. Specifically, your website is consistently using a large amount of simultaneous PHP processes originating from the location below:
http://www.mysite.com\forum\index.php?board=49.0
http://www.mysite.com\forum\index.php?action=profile;u=3;sa=trackUser
http://www.mysite.com\forum\index.php?action=who
http://www.mysite.com\forum\index.php?action=profile;u=3;sa=trackUser
http://www.mysite.com\forum\index.php?action=profile;u=3;sa=trackUser
http://www.mysite.com\forum\index.php?board=49.0
These processes combined, began using between 40 % to 45% of the system processor beginning today at approximately 4:20 PM EST and lasted until your Web site was stopped at 4:41PM EST.
This type of usage can be caused if your website is very heavily trafficked and contains many dynamic elements. You may wish to view any tracking software that is enabled on your forum. You can see that the query strings are executing some sort of tracking that is spawning multiple uses at the same time.
Your Web site will remain stopped until you can resolve this issue within your local development environment and ensure this type of usage will not repeat once re restart your Web site. When responding to this message, please explain the steps you have taken to correct the issue so we may be able to better identify and prevent related future issues. Repeated excessive resource usage will result in account suspension and possibly account termination.
In a shared hosting environment we can't allow a single website to use resources at this level. As stated in Section 3 of our terms and conditions, a single Web site cannot use more than 10% of any system resource for a period longer than 60 seconds.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
Best regards,
Thanks in advance.
please tell us who your hosting company is.
This is a familiar story. In a nutshell, you might want to shop around for a better host. If you spend a few minutes looking around the forum, you'll find similar "excessive processes" stories.
In all fairness it sounds like a problem with user tracking. Maybe the server hung on tracing an IP?
Can't really see how that would cause server issues though. Maybe all will become clear when we find out who the host is...
only reason i asked about the host is that i have read many a horror
story about unscrupulous hosts.
