Sync Issue.

I sync smf users to Joomla.

but  now it only shows 13users in the back end on Joomla :|

Says theres 53users in joomla shows 6 pages. page 1 has 10users , page 2 has 3 after that i have no users lol like 4 blank pages even thou it says i have 53 users :|.

I deleted all users from the database only account i left in Joomla was my admin account i tried to sync again and it said it worked but no users appear althou it stats theres 53 again.

i Sync'd the groups etc that made no difference(on the first test it sync'd then and remove a few users to be invisible :| )

What is going on :-|

What is in your jos_core_acl_aro table?

Let's explain a little about Joomla's (bloated) user permission system -- called the ACL.

Joomla uses a system of six database tables to map each user to a specified user group.  First, there is the jos_users table, which is quite obvious.

Next, we have the jos_core_acl_aro table.  This table will assign an "aro_id" to each user, based on real name (this is why I refuse to let the bridge allow two users the same real name).  The "aro_id" is the id used for the rest of the permissions system.

Then, there is the jos_core_acl_groups_aro_map table.  This is a list of the aro_id's from the jos_core_acl_aro table, each with a corresponding group_id.  The group_id's are defined in the jos_core_acl_aro_groups table.

If any of the jos_core_acl stuff goes bad, you end up with "invisible" users in the Joomla backend.  They can still login to the frontend, and function like normal users, but they don't appear in the Joomla users list in the Joomla admin panel.

The number one reason why this goes wrong is a prior installation of the phpBB component.  The phpBB component alters the way in which Joomla handles users, essentially disabling the ACL system.

I dunno lol i'm not to good with this coding stuff :-D

Theres the same users over and over again lol

Ok Ok i delete every user in the ACL aro table. and the Users table.

i sync'd all the users again n i now got 45 still 8 short :| how come? (says theres 53)

When some new registers on my forum its self not via joomla. he doesnt get added to mambo, but if i sync the users they all disappear except for the one who gets took over lol.

Example, i created a test user named test123 didnt get added to joomla sync'd users now it says i only have 1 user n its test123 lol

Does your SMF database user have access to your Joomla database?

Please stop deleting and synching your users.  That isn't going to help.  You may end up messing things up even more by doing that.

Have you previously installed the phpBB component for Joomla?

I have this problem and have never used PHPBB, but I am using community builder. My wife's account (she is a moderator) is not showing up in CB, but shows up after several tries in Joomla. The problem is she doesn't have any status next to her name when logged in (i.e. it doesn't say moderator or anything). I also can't update her account, so it seems like something is messed up.
