Otsikko: SMF - Indexing, Quick Question
Kirjoitti: dimensionmedia - kesäkuu 08, 2006, 09:02:17 AP
i have a client asking about "indexing" with SMF. Recently, he has been trying to ask me about "indexing" with SMF and I don't know what he's talking about exactly. I quote:

"Dude, there is NO indexing in it at all,
only the primary key, it needs to have indexing in order to load fast"

I'm not sure exactly what this means, but it might be related to a speed issue on his forum (it's hosted by GoDaddy, but I do not notice a speed issue when I access it). any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated. maybe you know what he's talking about. :-)

Indexing could refer to the search engine within SMF, within the 1.1 line, there are two index options for searching the database, Fulltext and SMF's Index.

If he is talking about primary keys, then he is refering to MySQL indexes, and there is a whole load of indexs so I have no idea what he is talking about.

so basically SMF uses indexes then. i thought so, but just needed to get OTHER people to support that.
