Otsikko: Does forum login work as bridge?
Kirjoitti: Face999 - kesäkuu 19, 2006, 06:21:19 IP
Just a quick question: Is the login form on the forum part of the bridge? If I log in that, I should also be logged into the Joomla/CB part?

Yes.

Thanks, Orstio, but just one more thing about this:

I see that if I follow the link from Joomla to SMF, the link is to the com_SMF component, same as the "login" link which is right next to the forum's login form on Website.com/smf (if /smf is where it's installed). Logging in through the com_SMF component works; logging in through Website.com/smf doesn't. Of course I'd try not to ever link directly to Website.com/smf knowing this, but was it made that way purposely? I mean, as opposed to changing the main forum template?

The stand alone forum is not the bridge.  The com_smf component is the bridge.

Sorry if this is a stupid question  :-[ but does this mean you don't necessarily have to publish the login module but could just use a link to the forum login instead?

Yes.
