You can use both HTML and normal SMF bbcode for newsbox items.

<a href="http://www.google.com">my-web-site-home link</a>

[url=http://www.google.com]my-web-site-home link[/url]

Replacing http://www.google.com with the address you want and "my-web-site-home link" with the name you want to use for the link.
