ok... I hope this is the right place.... I did a search on this and found nothing... but I could have used the wrong terms.
Anyway.... I have a site that roughly gets 2 million hits per month... I am in the process of combining my SMF forums with Joomla (Although I might change parts to the TinePortal for the forum front page... and have it access pages from the Joomla CMS system for reviews..etc so then Tinyportal would be thrown in the mix).... At the same time I am looking at Coppermine for our member photo gallery and another gallery system that allows users to upload their own pics in a profile section (as I saw on Digital Press).
Here is the question.... my #1 priority is to NOT KILL the Seo work I have done... AND not to lose the increasing hit status on the site. Will combining all these software pieces cause (or could it cause) the search engines to read the site differently and cause our hits / ratings to slip? OR will it strengthen what has been done?
Granted, it's all in how it is done... but I am interested in good specific opinions / facts that ANYONE might have to share.
