You mean restoring a database? Works perfect for me.

Easiest if you have restore_backup.php and create_backup.php

when you get a minute could you explain to me how you recovered using restore_backup.php?  After you ftp it to your server and run it from your browser, what did you fill in the boxes exactly?

Here is what I do:

MySQL server name: localhost
MySQL username: xxxxx_smf
MySQL password: xxxxx
MySQL database name: xxxxx_smf

I then paste the link to my backup and click proceed, then it's done.
